We will lose the deal instantly if we give up the 8th overall pick
- gerbe75pts

Is the point to make the playoffs and compete in this tough division, or keep prolonging this playoff drought even further when (as you so often say) "Jack wants out"?

Live a little.

Take a (frank)ing risk.

Sabres trying to get Monahan, 8th is being discussed in the deal also.
- SABRES 89

Hopefully it is being discussed in terms of it NOT being included in the deal.

It would take a ton of pressure off of Jack!

It would also move guys down the lineup where they belong.

Don't you see the positive outcome. We can't afford to wait and develop prospects right now.

ALso its one first round pick, its not like the Sabres wont have a 2nd this year and first round picks in future years.

The 8th overall pick likely has franchise players at it.. I will be severely passed off if we trade the 8th overall pick for Sean monahan

lol the likelyhood of the 8th overall pick having a franchise player in it is probably less than 1%

It's the 8th overall pick !!! And we are likely to get a superstar do not trade that pick

Historcially the 8th overall pick has about an 80% chance of playing > 99 games.

You are more likely to draft a guy who flames out than you are a superstar.

So Reinhart = Sam Gagner
Skinner = Elite level.

Even though Skinner has never had a 70 point season. And Reinharts career high in points is better than Skinners.......

Skinner multiple sub 40 point seasons.
Reinhart - 0 sub 40 point seasons.

- ImThatGuy

Jeff Skinner 4 seasons of 30 goals or more.

Sam Reinhart.....

I really don't like using losing high draft picks, but the pressure cooker for the Sabres is about to explode.

Bo Horvat literally went one pick after Risto.

Was also the last time a top 10 pick was traded for a roster player (New Jersey acquires Schenider with that pick)

New Jersey looked like gang busters after two years but who would you rather have today ?

Horvat or Schneider.

I’m sure we’ll be saying the same thing a few years from now if we move the pick for Monahan.

Could it also be that hes adding assists to Jack Eichels goals as well since he was naturally a play making center when drafted?

You are right he is wrong, he is a 50.8 point average scorer on a line with one of the best centers in the game. When Conner Sherry played with Crosby be had a 70 pt season. I'm thinking without Jack those points wouldn't be so high, inflated either. Centers Matter. Who wants to print the T-shirts?

Mitts is to small and we are in a division that is big and and has grit, we have none of that
- SABRES 89

He is listed at 6'1 and 200 pounds on the Capfriendly site. That is too small?
