Must be for Malkin since EK says he's getting traded, we all know it's correct.

Cool to see teams who played in the playoff but got eliminated making trade while buffalo are still sleeping on the job

George could be expensive I think. He is by far the best goalie possibly available in the trade market
- SabresFaninIndiana

I may get shot for this, but with UPL and Portillo looking to be progressing, would you take Fleury for a couple seasons?

Vegas will need to eat 2-3M, but Fleury at 4-5M is it worth it?

He’s scored 40 once, the year he peaked.

He has never scored back to back 30 goal seasons.

I wouldn’t call that elite.

He generates chances though at a high level. However if he doesn’t get the puck luck he does not offer anything defensively and has below average playmaking skills as shown by his average of 24 assists a year playing in a top 6 role over the course of his career.

He’s a good player, however one that is replaceable (ask Carolina).

He’s Sabres property though for another 7 years so hopefully they either play him with Eichel or get him a 2C so that way he can score his 25-30 goals and we don’t completely waste cap dollars

- Pegullaville

BUffalo - "Skinner is elite"
Also Buffalo - You cant play him with third liners and expect him to score 20 goals.

Well which is it, is he elite that he can do it on his own, or not?

Id call Skinner good, never elite. He had a Drew Stafford contract year.

ALso
Jeff Skinner Elite Career high 63 points
Sam Reinhart Stinks, not a 1st line player. Career high 65 points

The LEafs just got eliminated and are already workign on their team for next year.

Meanwhile the SAbres are parading around the GM saying look we are giving away jerseys.

Preach on brother.............money is tight no giving away of jerseys, unless they are knockoffs.

Ah, so they are winning the offseason by making the first trade. Not the best trade and maybe not even a good trade. By golly, the all-important first trade. They probably get a banner for that.

So it's a good trade for them. My point is that there are planty of things to kill the organization for doing or not doing. Not making the first trade of the offseason is not one of them. Kill them for what they or don't do for the opening night roster.

Again.
The Leafs were playing hockey about a week ago.
The Sabres were not.

The Leafs are already active.
They have a first round pick now to go get a D-man.

The Sabres are still trying to hire their departments...

Huh? My point that it is pretty weak to get your panties in a jumble because we have yet to make a trade a months before the season is about to start. Spoiler alert - more than 20 other teams haven't either. Are they all sleeping.

I am all for trades. Lots of trades. It's just pointless to get upset because someone else made the first trade.

I was told they were talking a Kapanen for Montour swap, maybe the Leafs were asking for more, who's to say.

Not confirmed yet, but still think he's worth it if 15OA was what was traded?

I would say no to both. I have little faith in Hutton bouncing back, but $8m combined for the juice and murray basically nukes additional roster moves.

I rescind the proposal

- jcragcrumple

Hutton’s play did dropped off a cliff the same way the last 2 years. Starts off hot and then gradually sucks.
