johnny hockey is better and nothing like skinner tbh

Notice the “lite” part. And I’m referencing their goal scoring ability which we clearly need an offensive guy to maximize skinner. Don’t pay a guy 9M then hamstring him with AHL talent. And before I get the “he makes 9M he should drive his own line” name another 9M guy in the league that constantly is Saddled with poop and still produces. I’ll wait. Because normally organizations have their top players playing together or at least have some form of cohesion about it.

Nice job. Love that Skunk for Monahan trade. Would be great.
- Michael Pachla

Thanks. I just think it’s a bit of a stretch to think Risto for Tuch and Montour for Anderson. So I picked one of those, switched of course. That means DeMelo is prolly a dream and honestly I’m fine with the D core constructed. Top 10 in 5v5, just need better PK.

We were bringing in those C and D level players, but who exactly thought they were going to play like A and B level players?

Colin Miller was a B/C level acquisition and he was sat half the time
Brandon Montour was a C level acquisition and he played wing and LD
Vesey was started on line 3. Not really an expectation of great results
Skinner was an A level acquisition and scored 40 goals
Jokiharju was an A level acquisition and he looks excellent

The only guy who fits this mold is Johansson

Bad take by Rivet

Not sure if you just forgot about, or purposely omitted the following in your critique of Rivet.
He isn't wrong, Sabres love to have their line-up play a level higher than their capability justifies.

We’re not. We’re bringing in A/BC/D level players and the coach is playing A/B level players like Skinner and Jokiharju in C/D spots.

He needed to add one more A/B level 2C

- sbroads24

Mojo was centering sobotka on the 2nd line and the 3rd line was the 4th line. The 4th line was an AHL line.

Everything was a line higher than it should have been because JB was fascinated by acquiring pure bulk of mediocre crap instead of getting just a couple good things.

The only options for Krueger were C/D players because Botterill was always offered terrific "bargains" he couldn't pass up. The Defense was so jam packed with garbage that one guy played LW and another quit and went to the KHL.

The roster was utter garbage composed of a who's who of misfit mediocrity

Do you think the cops knew about his warrant? What the warrant was for? And as it states it includes a firearm and he was going to the car and looked like he may be reaching for something would you take the chance knowing he has a firearm based on the warrant and not listening to orders to stop?

Also 3rd degree sexual assault

That fact aside, I think reasonable people can agree that your 2RW competition shouldn't be between vlad sobotka, Sheary and 35 year old Jason Pominville

So the GM acquired Sobotka with the “expectation” of him playing on line 2? Not at all.

You can’t possibly sit here and tell me he acquired Sobotka to be on a line higher then where Skinner ended the year.

When all you do is acquire mediocre crap, some of it is going to play on the 2nd line. Who specifically he expected there is irrelevant. Take your pick - Mojo, Sobotka, Vesey, Sheary, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Okposo, one of the Larrys, Remi Elie, Scott Wilson.

I mean take your pick. Two of those scrubs were going to be on the 2nd line by default because 90% of the stuff he acquired was crap, especially among the forwards.

There simply weren't enough good players while he kept picking up more garbage. There was only crap to choose from

No but I think it was a chemistry move, I mean it clearly was. That line produced, and pod racer did things that skinner and mojo wouldn’t/couldn’t that made that line click. There are guys that are better that could fill that role, but Buf didn’t have any and when Kuch cheap shotted Vlad, Buf season spiraled

Skinner
Sheary
Johansson

Three guys who have played on lines 1-2 their entire careers for the most part. The only one the dip poop coach played consistently there was the one who was out of position

That's a garbage 2nd line with no real center. They would get roasted alive and cooked in their own juices in the defensive zone while not producing enough offensively

Roster was trash, I dont know why you can't see it

Dylan Cozens should provide the same impact as Monahan with much more team control.

Obviously that won’t be the case right away but ideally he’s not a player you should move.

i am curious but did you know that as of like an hour ago he was still alive.. not that it matters because he is in critical condition in the hospital. but you have to dig pretty deep to find that out. if they wanted to kill him they could have very easily done it in one shot.

You literally just proved Rivet's point by saying Johansson and Sheary should have been 2/3rds of the 2nd line. Neither one of them had any business occupying those roles

Sheary went to a playoff team and was on the 1st line.

Johansson was on Boston's second line who were in the cup finals.

Our coach (coaches) didn't know what they were doing as much as the GM was bad.

Johansson was NOT their 2nd line center, he played 3LW

Conor Sheary had 2 assists playing with Crosby and missed the net on a penalty shot.

Jesus, you're so desperate to defend Jason Botterill. Mojo had no business being a 2C and Sheary had no business being a 2RW.
