All the while China has been stock piling gold at an alarming rate since 2016, while publishing their reserves for the first time since 2009 in July. While many analysts are stating they think the reported numbers are understated due to the amount of gold flowing through Hong Kong.

How is that for a conspiracy theory. Could they be possibly planning to hedge their currency with gold or maybe even back their currency using gold ?

What if the Chinese continue to sell off their U.S debt ? It could bring a surge in interest rates, dealing a crushing blow to the U.S. economy with mortgage rates and corporate borrowing costs ballooning.

Food for thought, maybe they are taking a run at becoming the worlds reserve currency
