Thanks. Perhaps I shouldn’t even bother to look at these steaming piles, but I like knowing the enemy. Where do I find them?

She's on Twitter: Shayna (@hayyyshayyy)

She has good blogs on analytics, but to me, advanced analytics are just talk topics and not serious at all. When someone told me advanced analytics said Phil DiGuiseppe was better at puck possession numbers than Breadman, I told them their own c0ck was up their @$$ again.

There is a female blogger who loves writing analytic blogs that he openly mocked and then he liked an anti BLM post. He also spend the rest of the day fighting with fans.

This is the kinda stuff that makes me want to just sell high on him and move on. We're loaded in RD and can use the upgrade elsewhere. I dont care he is a Trump supporter...BUT I do care that he is obnoxiously vocal about it to the point he argues with fans on a regular basis. You cant help but think it will eventually spill into the locker room and for a young team turning the corner that needs to be avoided at all costs. You could argue if Trump loses it will just naturally melt away but If Trump wins again in November the distraction will only get worse

I really Really like Tony as a player. I’d love for him just to focus on hockey.

There are people who love that he hates libs and constantly attacks them, but, how does this help us win a Stanley cup.

That’s all I care about

- jimbro83

I never bought into the "focus on sports/making movies/tv/etc" thing. Anyone can speak their mind and use their platform (if they have one) to voice their opinions. I can say i'd probably disagree with TonyD on probably everything he believes but he has every right to say what he feels he needs to say. That's not to say he's immune from consequences of saying things that cross a line or are deemed unpalatable by his employer, the same as anyone else

As someone who completely dismisses analytics I completely agree.

But again. Why is Tony even engaging on twitter with a goddamn blogger.

I remember something that came out when we traded for him where someone who coached him or knew him through hockey in some way compared him to a teenager. And then someone else said something like "if Tony has the mentality of a 15 year old, Sean Day is 12"

Exactly. I think fancy stats can be interesting at times but all that matters is winning. I can't stand when someone says that a team was "unlucky" because they won the fancy stats game but lost the actual game.

He should not be engaging with anyone on social media. Players need to keep their opinions to themselves and use twitter to post things like community events they helped out at or their visit to a children's center for the Make a Wish Foundation. He can take a lesson from current/previous Rangers (Mess, G, Cally, Hank) to learn what it's really like to play here and how be be a professional.

Great write up Jan. I absolutely agree about Fast. 2.5-3 million is a fair price for his services. I dont see that as an overpay whatsoever with his ability to play everywhere in the lineup AND be a role model for our young team. We need to find the money to pay him (a max of 3 million tho, anything more is an overpay).

To allow Hank, Staal, Smith (all 1 year left and arguably Staal and Hank close to retirement), or TDA with his possible locker room/social media distractions, or carrying 3 goalies as an excuse to not free up a fair value contract for Fast is an absolute travesty for a young team that drafted him and already rounding the corner into contention.

Completely agree. But there is a difference between "posting" your free speech on social media and "arguing" in the comment section with fans. Hockey is a business and just like any business they have a right to set rules of what he can do on social media or "be fired" for breaking their social media/PR standards

I'm losing my mind over the ADA flack, seriously people are allowed to have their own opinion without being labeled a racist or other dumb poop, i keep saying this, Liberals want people to change but never allow anyone to change, that incident was years ago in Juniors, Tony has been stand up considering all the question marks about behavioral issues, enough is enough, let it go!!

If we are going to trade him, may be best to do it before the election in November. If things don't go Trumps way he may go over the edge and lose all value

Will cover this on my ADA blog, which is next in line. New York is going to have a very tough decision. ADA's comment to Shayna Goldman yesterday on her analytics blog and then his liking the basically anti-BLM tweet won't help his case.
- airjan23

He's anti BLM, let's stop pretending this organization is genuine to the name, it's a radical left organization using the phrase as protection, I know y'all realize this, common sense can't be that far out of grasp.

Not just you. And some of the ads are way more offensive than poop I’ve said and got spanked for.

And then he was jettisoned from Arizona after a year. I don't see him back here next year for hockey (see below), business (big contract he requires will be an issue), and character reasons. He is entitled to speak his mind but he is not entitled to be free from ramifications of doing so (if there are any to be had)

We have all the offense in the world in our forward group and we have Fox, Trouba, Miller, Lundkvist on D. Assuming another team is willing to take on the perceived baggage, I imagine he and Georgi will be dangled for a 2C.

- picklerick

Hope we sign him to a long term deal, 8 years please!!

Proof he was "jettisoned" from Arizona please? His character is fine, it's the snowflakes who can't handle a differing opinion.

Um his play on the ice does, his ability to put up points does not his "wokeness"

So his game is perfect. He has nothing to work on in the defensive zone.
