I think Adam Fox, K'Andre Miller, Kappo Kakko, Igor Shesterkin and the #1 overall pick are all off limits in trade talks

anything else if the guy doesn't have a NMC can be dealt

- jimbro83

Ultra-hypothetically, and I realize it's extremely unlikely, but if Kakko could be used as part of a package to obtain the #2 pick from LA (Byfield), would you do it? Again, not saying it's going to happen (although, to be fair, LA DOES already have not one but two prime prospects at center and may be interested in a top winger), but part of the fun of forums like this is discussing hypotheticals.

Mika engaged

Breadman's play notably regressed after he got engaged, lets hope its not a trend with Mika.

No, I would not do this trade. Kakko already has NHL experience. While our RW group is good, there is nobody who has a higher ceiling than Kakko. He is a future star and I expect the Laf/Kakko line to accomplish great things.

A reasonable take. Personally, I would strongly consider it. Yes, a Laf/Kakko pairing sounds great, but Byfield centering Laf does as well! And as a Chytil skeptic, I'm a bit more concerned about them at the center position than others here. And while Kakko has experience, I'm sorry to say I was a bit underwhelmed by it. Which HARDLY means I'm already calling him a bust, but to me it means that his ceiling is still a bit speculative just as Byfield's. By the way, if in this hypothetical trade, the Rangers could sweeten the deal a bit, maybe they could pry Kaliyev away as well. Am very high on him and was hoping they would trade up to get him last year.

Puckin Island or whatever his name is. At this point he's just posting repeatedly without anyone responding to him and he just keeps on going like a mentally disabled Energizer Bunny

I was never hard on Pete, he was like Tom, was great to talk to and then for whatever reason lost his marbles.

Really sounds like Flames looking for a shake up. Monohan is going to be a Ranger imo. That’s my prediction

Carolinas first is going in it

- Slimtj100

Read up on how CGY fans feel about him and Gudreau. They say all the things he does in the regular season means nothing come postseason. They play with no passion and don’t have the extra step/aggressiveness needed in the playoffs. Hard pass on Monahan. Skill is important but come playoff time you need more than just skill, TOR is a perfect example.

I think the difference though is, we wouldn't necessarily need Monahan in that role here. Kakko is going to grow into his frame and be plenty physical, from what I heard Laffy plays with a bit of a edge as well. We also have guys like CK20 and hopefully Gaut that can also play those roles. I'm not sure Calgary really has many options in that department.
