Just found this place and seems like good conversation. Ranger fan back to the mid 70's hence the username.

I would love to keep Fast but I think he would best serve the Rangers in a 4th line role. I would love to see a 4th line of Lemieux - Howden - Fast/Gauthier either Lemieux or Gauthier would be the healthy scratch on a given night.

What would everyone think about signing Strome to a 2 year deal (have read the input already) and possibly signing Brassard for a year to be the 3C?

Welcome aboard, picked a great time to join.

We had the best of Brass, moving on.

We talk about players across the league taking time to develop, how about Zib as a perfect example. Career high 51 points at age 25. We see what he’s done the last 2 years. Guys giving up on a guy like Chytil at 20 years old saying they don’t think he has it or he’s not going to be good is insane. Give these kids time to develop, Chytil isn’t even old enough to drink a beer yet and we’re deciding if he’s ever going to be a good hockey player.

There’s no room. Howden or Chytil need to be centering that line or else there’s no spot on the wings for both. I’d rather take the chance these 20 and 21 year olds grow and are able to take it over permanently than sign 33 year old Brassard for 1 year. Welcome to the site

If I told you we could win the cup next year guaranteed, or win 3 in the next 15 years, which would u take
- nyrangers9479

3 in the next 15, of course!!

Problem with that is that NYR has to be very smart with what they do, and those youngsters that we hold in to need to pan out.

Winning one "just" needs to have things line up right for one off season/season

I'm all in in the Gorton/JD train, so no matter what dumb asssss shiiit I say here, I'm still bullish on this team, especially after next season

This caps game just reminds me of us when we lost to Tampa in game 7 back in 2015. We just looked pathetic, played with no passion

My point is we have a young enough core that we could be a team like the Blackhawks/Penguins etc that have a nice 10-15 year run. We start giving up on some of these kids to early and get impatient it could lead to a quicker window than we expected. Are we going to make moves as time goes on? Of course. But I’m not willing to start getting rid of some of these kids at 21 years old bc they haven’t turned into perennial all stars yet.

Caps knew it was over.

I am definitely not winning the first round pool this year, my only hope lies in the next round.

Really sounds like Flames looking for a shake up. Monohan is going to be a Ranger imo. That’s my prediction

Carolinas first is going in it

It's too early on a Friday to make fake trades, but how would you structure this?

I feel like Strome ADA and Car 1st would be a smidge of an overpayment on our part, but I'm not sure they take that either. Looking at their roster, they are going to need defense.
