It's so hard to judge what a UFA goalie would get. They don't have the value of DMen or forwards and I'm not sure how budget restraints due to COVID losses will affect the market. Lehner might not get more than Freddy does now. He actually got less $ last summer than I thought he would in a normal market.

McDavid for Andersen and Nylander is good from a Leafs perspective.

Lehner has really changed for the better. I follow him on Twitter and he is far more positive nowadays

he battled through a lot of adversity. and very out-spoken. and a good goaler.

he would either set a great example for the locker room or get disgusted at the apathy in the room.

seems like he's the guy we need.

I disagree.

Habs had the most scoring chance in that game. With a little more luck and some normal shooting %, they would have won that game.

They deserved better.

They'll win this afternoon!

#Optobus.

They had a few chances but Flyers were frustrating them especially in the neutral zone. Hart made a few good saves but most of the shots were of the perimeter no screen variety. It's hard to sit on a 1 goal lead for 3 periods but the Flyers did it.

Anyone else think that the Leafs will do nothing significant at all, and next year's presser will sound a lot like this year's?

*Maybe* Johnsson gone for a bottom pair Dman?

the combination of all those trades left us both worse in the short-term and worse in the long-term.

the facts speak for themselves.

- Tumbleweed

1- Marleau needed to be traded to free up cap space for to sign Marner(Lou signed Marleau)

2- Kadri had to be traded because he cost to much against the cap for a 3rd line C, and he got suspended twice in the playoffs

3- Zaitsev had to be traded because he was being paid too much for far too long (Lou signed Zaitsev)

So, it actually didn't hurt as much as you think.

I don't expect Dubas to do anything major.

If by a couple you mean 1. Sure.

Kotkaniemi hit 3 all by himself.

Who knows what happens next year. NHL is impossible to predict. That said, I think there will be minor changes, but nothing quite as dramatic as people think.

Yes, William Nylander will be a Leaf next year. It's more the support players who will be moved around. One of Johnsson/Kerfoot/Kapanen will be moved no doubt.

Even though I'd like to see Freddy moved I think there's a greater chance he stays.

The Habs are Columbus.

The difference so far is that Tampa >>> Philadelphia.

I find it hilarious that people jumped on the Philly bandwagon so fast. I can't see them even coming close to beating Tampa or Boston in a 7 game series.

Yeah, Philly isn't that good. they got a lot of respect for winning nothing with their core thus far.

I think Freddy has to stay. I doubt they have the confidence to run with Campbell and other options are likely too expensive. Freddy will walk for nothing next year.

Sorry greatgig

absolute BS.

and even if it was true, name one other goalie in the last 4 years with a track record like his of whiffing in key games.

There was nothing wrong with the game 1, game 3 or game 5 goals on the defenseman's part. People suggesting there is, are more afraid of admitting they are wrong about Andersen than actually assessing his performance.

Other team's defense makes mistakes also, lots of mistakes.

- Aetherial

the winning goal in game 1 was Andersen's fault.. Maybe we should blame the forward group for not scoring on their shift before Atkinson scored.

The 2nd goal in Game 5 was Andersen's fault too. The line change didn't allow Foudy to score from behind the goal line

Philly's power play has gone right in the toilet. Habs should've won game 1. I don't buy the Philly hype either.

It means they came pretty damn close at least 5 times in a 1-0 game.

So in a similar game, odds are these very close call could/might go in.

Habs are playing better than the Flyers since that series started, they have every right to feel confident moving forward.

The Oilers get additional cap space too. It's a win/win right? Maybe we can get them to add a draft pick for us taking on so much salary

holl left him completely hanging. he should be back riding buses next year for that move. marincin got caught flat footed in no man's land. mainly because holl left him hanging. and then freddy muffed it probably thinking a pass was coming.

this play just highlighted the need for a big overhaul in the bottom half of the line-up.

Habs have definitely been the better team and should win this series. But hitting goal posts is like Roeper saying the Leafs will win the Cup. It sounds great but means nothing.

I do think the Leafs will look at UFA goalies or maybe even a trade? Other than that, I think it will be minor changes like Kapanen or Johnsson.

I think the "Core 4" get 1 more year together

I was supportive of keeping our upcoming UFAs in the past and not moving them for picks/prospects. BUt I'm not a fan of that right now. They should move on from him.
