The one constant is change. The team will change up some of the roster year over year. They always do.

Expect the typical 3-5 rookies to play more than an audition next year. Suter will be one of those guys almost guaranteed. Expect 1-2 spots on forward and probably 1 D spot to be held down by rookies next year.

The Hawks have had Boqvist playing with Keith, not because he is the best defender for that pair, but to help him absorb and learn. Maybe next season Boqvist will be paired with someone who is more "Stay at home".

The Front Office has had some changes and I expect some of that will trickle into the roster decisions.

Wonder if the assistant coaching staff will have any changes. Is Marc Crawford going to stay as "associate Coach". Do they keep Brookbank as defensive coach?

Really hard to know without someone having inside info I'd think. My guess is they will stay because the expectations on the team right now aren't "win now" but I'm not the right person to really say.

Sharp has not been replaced either 6' 200# very fast skater, killed penalties early in his career, played 2c 2010, 25-35 goals a year.
- rpeters01

The Hawks teams had guys that played big and/or where hard to play against.

Even the '15 team. Versteeg, Kruger, Shaw, Sharp, Saad, Hossa, Desjardins, Toews.

Really the only "soft" players were Richards, Kane, and Teuvo.

Ex Hawks quick report for anyone that cares...I turned on the Avs- Yotes game to see a trio of ex Hawks on the ice a lot. Hinostroza turned it over inside of his own blue line giving a 2 on 1 to MacKinnon and Landeskog...oops. None other than Oesterle was the lone defensemen back and broke up the pass. Hjalrmarsson takes a bad penalty a minute later and the Avs score quickly to make it 3-0 after 1. At least they are in the playoffs. Avs are tough

2 goals by Kadri. He would have been a good 3C for the Hawks. Too bad they could not have made a trade for him with the Leafs last summer.

You mean Avs?

4 shots on goal 5 mins into the second. It's like they never left.

I thought about that and maybe it will happen, depending on what level of play Seabrook is able to bring. He is no spring chicken but sounds like he is feeling better at least, so maybe next year is a bit of a bounce back of sorts?

I was saying that half in jest. I really want Seabrook to come back strong, but we can't say anything until he gets back on the ice again. It was promising to see him back before they restarted. Fingers crossed.

Wow. That Cale Makar kid is impressive. Just absolutely walked Goligoski for a pretty breakaway goal.

Another Bowman fail, Stan should have drafted Makar.

And they drafted that defensemen last year at #4, who is supposed to be awesome as well. Seems like Sakic and Co. are doing a great job. Going to be a tough matchup for anyone for a long time.

I'm hoping for an Avs - Tampa SC Final. That would be a track meet with a ton of goal scoring.

That would be a fun final. But I’d like to see the Hurricanes make it.

Unfortunately for Carolina, Herman Munster inflicted big time pain on Svechnikov and he's probably gone for the playoffs. Big loss, kid's a great young player.

The #Blackhawks  have signed free agent 21 y/o LW Cameron Morrison to 2 year Entry Level Deal. Drafted 2nd Round by Colorado ‘16 & did not sign with them this week, becoming free agent. Pursued by several teams.

27 Points in 37 games at Notre Dame.

Did anybody see Mackinnon rag dolling Christian Fisher? Former Chicago Mission player Fisher is 6’2” 215lbs and Mackinnon was throwing him around like a 135lb child.

Mackinnon is the best player in the world today IMO.

Great call by Scott1977! He was clamoring for Morrison. I think another poster did, too.

Mack could have really hurt Fisher if he had a little better fighting technique and a pound more meanness.

When Mackinnon gets rolling he's like a 18 wheeler going at top speed downhill.

And he makes about $5million/year less than each of Tavares, Mathews and Marner. In fact, he makes less than William Nylander.

Now i want to know more about this Blackhawk free agent sign a few months ago. He is this big tough guy, a good fighter, from the Western Junior League and was signed for Rockford. I believe I saw something where he does have some skill. But is reknown for his toughness.

It is the battlers like him, Johnson, maybe Entwhistle, surely Soderlund if he develops, an agitator like Barrett: we need these type on botton lines with Highmore and Hagel. Even Fortin. It is good to have many whom could fit in since eventually not all will make the grade here.

Opening night next seadon a reasonably good wager:
Seabrook not quite ready
BOQVIST TO AHL
Mitchell.starts at AHLlevel

- jhawk59

I think you put on delicate gloves with an Adam Boqvist demotion.
I think Boqvist knows what he has to do to be a playoff performer and firstly a NHL defenseman.
Positionally, Ian Mitchell is far ahead of Adam as a defender, but I agree, there may be a chasm there for a direct touch down in the bigs, so I think they go slow with him and the other defenseman prospects unless they know the NHL doors off and cause press box seatings for the older vet defenders.
