2 years at 3mil? How about 1 year for 1.5 ? I would try to trade him and go with one of the kids with speed, it would give you some cap room down the road?
Great articles and I viewed this series as bonus as a fan and experience for the young players, Wish Hagel, Louis C could dress for this game tonight.

If he could get stronger you would have a well skilled strong player. He has the frame.

taking dach # 3 over the other options.
trading forsling and Forsberg for dehann
signing 3 of the top 10 UFA that are under ELC.

he acquired Richard panik and Koeke for almost nothing.

signing Panarin in the 1st place. as well as kempny. he has been better in the draft and Euro UFA then he has trading or extending. I do wonder how much contracts and trades from roster were influenced by Q and MCD. Im guessing the other things they kept there hands out of.

its been a mixed bag but he has had some success.

That's my point. Based on the write up, he'll be Marian Hossa as a rookie.
- scottak

Hossa wasn't a great rookie said he didn't learn to play both ways until Detroit. He was Nylander like as a rookie OMFG what did I say?

Yes. I recall a goalmouth tap in or off goal mouth rebound he got a stick on puck. Maybe his first game?
- jhawk59

I was listening on the car radio and they were talking about signing him. I think it was game 4 they were down 0-3 probably to Edmonton?

Like three or four drafted unsigned free that signed elsewhere ever became anything. I bet he never plays more than 50 NHL games.

The $925 says something? I don't think all the Rockford forwards will be back next year.

I'm thinking of getting a Morrison tat. What does yours look like? I don't want to copy.

I bet he gets more games then entwistle they are both 21 right now. Morrison is 10 months older. they are the only Forwards with size that Im aware of. we have some d with size. regula Vlasic.

Hopefully Vlasic isn't "Lurch." Isn't Entwistle something like a buck 85 in weight?

Not trading for Malkin - Fail
Not trading Toews and Keith for Kopitar and Doughty - Fail
and the coup de grace - not trading Kane for Miller - FAIL!!!

Within reason, I could care less about the "tale of the tape". Dach and Strome are basically the same size at the same position, yet completely different players. Caggiula is 5'10" and 176 and plays like he's much bigger.

It's all about how you use what you have.

Getting Kubes for a 5th. Or was that a massive overpay on Stan’s part with the timing once again being called into question?

Discounting what they are listed at and their compete level, the eye test says Dach is significantly bigger than Strome. To a point of course compete level matters but 185 just isn't going to get it done against players like Reeves. Furthermore, the way Drake plays his career will end early.

Getting Toews and Kane to take bridge deals is probably the most underrated move any GM has pulled off of all time not counting Boston trading for Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge.
- rpeters01
the bridge deals were still at 6 mil not including bonuses and that was after 1 cup and at that time it was at the higher end of salaries. Still a good move.

Overall, Stan has done a great job, but has been quite lucky; probably his best move: picking up Oduya. But some moves are super bad and kind of puts us in our current situation. Also, not sure if they know how to draft defensemen.

Should drafted Caufield or Byram.
The Hawks are not in cap hell because of the de Haan (and Maatta) deal.
Panik and Koekkoek are bit players who've done nothing significant in their careers,

I'm sure Scotty was behind signing Panarin, it was Stan who mismanaged the assets to trade him for nothing. Same with Kempny.

I'm sure Toronto and Edmonton would have liked bridge deals for Matthews, McJesus and Draisaitl. Players who have won nothing but big bucks. The days of bridge deals seems to have ended and you can't build a team from 0 to cup in 3 years. The GMs will figure out they are going to have to force bridge deals and risk losing players if they want to win it all.

Hawks general manager Stan Bowman has now signed a quite sizable handful of prospects this summer: Morrison, Denver defenseman Ian Mitchell, Wisconsin defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk, Penn State forward Evan Barratt, Swiss forward Pius Suter, Russian forward Andrei Altybarmakyan and Czech forwards Michal Teply and Matej Chalupa.

Those signings not only add a lot of depth and talent to the Hawks' prospect pipeline, but also imply significant overhaul of the IceHogs' roster may be imminent. Anton Wedin and Jacob Nilsson already left for Europe, and Alexandre Fortin, Joseph Cramarossa, Joni Tuulola, Ian McCoshen and T.J. Brennan are all free agents.

Answer posted above. He's strong as an ox, owns the wall, can skate with players on his back and he has a shot that knocks goalies backward. Only negatives, his skating is average and needs time. That sounds like a future HOFer to me.

Please remember, this was written by me watching a young junior player playing against juniors in a time when you could even argue the United States Hockey League at the time wasn't attracting the high amounts of skilled players it does now...

The chasm between being a junior prospect playing in teams with many a weak sister team in the leagues, and playing against theist in the world is large.
that chasm closes with prospects doing the things that lead to the next steps...and some will beware figure it out.

As Said last night the. college route is a perfect place for the NHL to harvest "heavy" players...just looking at the additions the last couple, you see kids from strong. collegiate programs where their Pius strong emphasis on hard defensive play being signed and having success at the NHl level.

pick a team find a non household hockey name and research it and I bet you can find lost of what I am talking about.

Bottom line, you dont know what you get until there starts to be results, growth and that light to come on (like with Dach) where the prospect realizes, I CAN play with these guys...

so the jury is out..no he's not the next Pacoretty or the next Bickell yet,, just
let it happen...or not.

(Go read what I (AND EVERYONE else!) said about Nail Yakopov-that tells you how much depends upon what happens with the young guys after the draft selection.
