I haven't seen a heck of a lot of plans of keeping Montour and more and more with trading them both and just building up the forwards which has me scathing my head and being thankful that none of us are the GM.

They most likely have a Plan to replace them But new Gms don't like old toys they like their own

I think both will be gone
- gerbe75pts

I think Montour will be gone and a surprise forward or two. They could trade Risto too but they will bring in another D in some sort of trade, they won't gut the whole thing and let the kids, McCabe and Miller run the show on the back end.

I've said the same thing and why there will be blockbuster deal cleaning out who Ralph and Kevyn don't like but who can get them something. Problem for some Sabres fans is Ralph likes Risto but how much does he like him?

Maybe you don't need it. Sam for Domi, Risto for Copp. Sign Craig Smith

Olo-Eichel-Smith
Skinner-Domi-Mojo
Kahun-Copp-Cozens
Assorted Larrys

Is it perfect? No. I think it's better though. And the D is still fine (or as fine as it was)

- jcragcrumple

I said a while ago the Samson/Domi swap makes a ton of sense for both teams. I still hate Domi and will hate that trade. I think it's really possible it happens.

Maybe we can squeeze another asset out of it because I think Reinhart is easily better

I'm talking about what reporters hear not what he says at bogus news conferences that what is said there means nothing.

Least I got the 'dominated' part right. I do recall that earlier in the season he was awful on the road, clearly he turned it around.

I agree, but it's rare to be able to trade a winger for a center, so if the opportunity arises, I'd take it

Why was Domi playing the 4th line center

Domi is someone IMO who fills a gap, but you are always looking to upgrade even when you have him.

Depends on contract, because he'd be fine in a 3C role if Cozens pans out after this year.

I just simply hate that bag of manure

Ya, I think Sam is certainly more consistently than Domi, but Domi can post some numbers too. I like him as a 2C and like his feistiness...Sabres could benefit from some snarl in the Top 6.
wonder what that extra piece would be...3rd rounder?

That's what we're doing here though, right? We're just waiting for Cozens

I like domi, in fact I'd prefer him to Strome, Galchenyuk, Bjuicestate, Copp and some others.

Really, I dont give a poop what they do as long as they bring in 2 centers. Bonino and Strome: Fine. Domi and Copp: Fine.

Actually ill ammend this because I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Just get ONE. Two seems like I'm living in fantasy land

My ideal acquisition this year is Mangiapane from Calgary. Maybe Montour + Asplund can get that done

Bonino has one year left on his deal, maybe he could be had for a 2nd rounder in 2021 and we can give him an additional 2 years on his deal.

Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Bonino-Mangiapane
Mojo-Cozens-Kahun
Thompson-Larsson-Okposo

I would love to add Mangiapane, but I have a difficult time believing Calgary will let him go, unless they are desperate for defense.

If they trade Montour and Risto they will have to bring in a veteran D who can play the PK and in the top 4. I think hopeful Sabres fans are putting too much hope on Joker and Dahlin to be solid defensively, especially against top talent. But if it gets rid of Risto for some, the flashbacks to the tank back end be damned, especially with not exactly world beaters in net.
- GilPerreault11

The combination of Jon Merrill on the left side and Dylan DeMelo on the right side would more than make up for any so called defensive deficiencies being lost by trading Ristolainen and Montour.

Does being a non physical, massive annoyance really count as snarl?

I’m still operating on the belief that most GM’s are still stupid.
