Avs are spending an entire period in the Yotes zone and can’t buy a goal.
I’d kill for McKinnon or Rantanen to be in a Flyers sweater. - hereticpride
I wanted Rantanen soo badly his draft year. I wanted to trade up for him after snagging Provy |

With this series I think we are seeing a fast team. Speed imo is one of our weaknesses. While we have players with descent wheels we don’t have anyone with blazing or pull away speed. The old jitterbug phrase.
Is grabner a free agent this year? Maybe hagelin? Just for the bottom 6. |

No thank you to both. With the forwards we have, plus Lindblom, Patrick and Frost possibly added to the roster, why would we want to add those players? Far more important than individual players speed, how fast you play is far more important. How fast and quick you move the puck. How quick you make decisions. How well you play structurally as a team. That would contribute far more to team speed than adding one player.

Welp, is everyone ready for how ugly this thread is gonna get because the Flyers played like hot garbage, and SOMEBODY has been doing their best to stoke the fires of every other franchises’ fan bases in the league - Hesh_

Not to sign both, just one. They are two fast players for maybe a year. With grant Thompson pitlick Stewart all gone I thought for the 4 thvline as they are both penalty killers as well. But understand what your saying about the youth. Hope patty is back next year. And if they are all healthy then guessing NAK would duffle to the 4 th line. Grabner and Hayes could be short handed stars. Haha. Was just explaining the thought. Forgot about patty. |

No to both means no to either player. Its a really bad idea. |

Agreed. The top 12 is already super crowded. Even if Patrick never laces them up again I'm not sure there's any room for another vet, even with speed.
Are both thompson/grant UFA's? |

I’ve got no idea what AV and the coaching staff will decide to tweak/change/revolutionize for game 3. The defense could see Hägg-Braun return or a small adjustment to usage with the same lineup or the complete shuffle. I am not advocating for shuffling but it could look like this:
Provy-Myers
Ghost-Niskanen
Sanheim-Braun
With the forwards, it’s especially hard to guess because we don’t know if TK and Raffl are available. Of all the ideas I have had that aren’t too crazy, I have two. First, I think Grant is looking better than Hayes 5 on 5 vs Canadiens. Second, Laughton has been the best forward. Regardless of his regular middle six spot he has earned in the lineup, I’d see if he could help Coots get going. So top line...Laughts-Coots-TK or Voracek if TK is not available. That means Giroux-Grant-NAK. JVR-Hayes-Farabee. And I would play Bunny on the 4th because he will stand in front of Price.
With Giroux and Laughton, they could easily switch lines during the game if needed. - NC Flyers Fan
Dude, you don;t start monkeying around with year old defensive pairs when you are 1-1 in a playoff series!

I wasn’t advocating for it...just looking at the problems VS Canadiens and potential solutions. It’s the extreme. I wouldn’t do it after one loss.

Guys come and go but I agree signing vets to the bottom six doesn’t look very likely right now.
If they lose this series in ugly fashion tho who knows what this team does in the offseason. |

Nope. Day off for the team. No beat writers in Toronto. Plus league wide nondisclosure policy. - bmeltzer
Day off? They certainly deserve that... |
