Jackson is the worst. Time to move on him from. It's a nails on the chalkboard broadcast with him.

I can deal in the regular season. It's a long year. Familiar voice. Fine. When the chips are down and it's the playoffs...too too too much. Every year the simplistic pandering is just increasingly too much to take. It's like we're blind and not understanding what is really going on.

Statement for Bruins GM Don Sweeney.

Sweeney says nothing specific happened with Tuukka’s family, they are all safe and well. He said Tuukka was just struggling being away and in this environment.

So yeah, he essentially quit the team. That is pathetic.

Agree. The bottom line is that I've never seen a Cup win in my lifetime. When the you know what hits the fan, I come to the board and another one to vent in a "safe space." No topic is immune from my ranting to mentally recover from a thrashing like that.

That was far from a sure goal, lehkonen coming from all the way over on the wall and Ben chariot with a guy coming down on him.
- ClaudeFather

It was a clear 2-0. Good execution would've been a goal. The percentage of goals scored on a 2-0 breakaway is extremely high.

Using all of my accrued Hockey Wisdom, I completely concur that a time out should have been called after the second score.
They were steamers that needed to be chilled and reorganized. It was a coaching failure to retain your calm in this situation.
AV should have given them both barrels and asked if they were still mentally on their knees praying for the other coach's welfare.
This was the first time since Buffalo smeared their butts with butter and had their way with them that I didn't watch a full playoff game (on purpose).

And I NEVER use emojis.

Welp, is everyone ready for how ugly this thread is gonna get because the Flyers played like hot garbage, and SOMEBODY has been doing their best to stoke the fires of every other franchises’ fan bases in the league

Is that actually a recorded stat?

That is possible. Although Seattle is further from Helsinki than Boston is.

Go watch the video , it wasn’t a great 2-0 , you had the lehkonen coming from the half wall, he literally could put his hand on the boards, and Ben chiraot (known sniper I guess) skating with him.

Not that I'm aware of. I'm just going on my experience and observation.

I wouldn't make book on it. Montreal would have won yesterday if they had a trash can between the pipes.

I understand and don't disagree with those that say if you want to opt out, then do it before it all starts. These are unprecedented times. No player can predict how they will feel when they become completely isolated from their family. Let's remember that they re human. It has to be killing Claude Giroux to be away from his young child. If Rask is not able to be completely invested and there 100% mentally, then he's not doing to the team any favors. In my view he would be doing a bigger disservice to the team by staying. It is what it is.

Gotta love Boston fans turning on the guy who was key for their playoff run last year.

In Boston you don't get a participation trophy for finishing second. That City has dominated the sports landscape the last two decades with 12 Championships.

Especially if the trash can was particularly adept at handling the puck in the trapezoid, and the opposing team, trying to get itself going, dumps in the puck not to the corners but right to to where the trash can's trapezoid is. Repeatedly.

So, will be the B's back up goalie? And, did all teams bring 3 goalies with them?

I wonder if Giroux,Couturier and JVR are struggling with the same issues that Rask is? Their collective heads certainly don't seem like they've been locked in mentally.

It’s tough being away from your family when you have a newborn. I had to do it for a couple of months. I could see it putting you in a bad frame of mind and making you feel like your job just isn’t worth it. Especially when these playoff dont feel like the real thing. It did for me. My company wanted me to stay another month and I told them that I gave them all I could and I’m going home. At that point I was ready to lose my job over it.

Eh I’d say they def miss their families. But the Couts line played great against the Pens, Bs and Caps imo. Shut down the other teams’ star(s). But would be nice to get some offense from them. Giroux hit post 2 times.

Yep, it's called being human. Our heroes and sports athletes aren't allowed to be. Some things are more important.

What I saw was a team with little heart and next to no pushback. FFS, Domi runs your goalie in a 4-0 game and no one drops the gloves and jumps him? That’s pathetic. I’m not expecting the Bullies and yeah it’s a different era, but if that had happened in 2010, any one of Pronger, Simmonds, Hartnell, Schenn, Lappy etc... would have gone right after the little puke.

This has nothing to do with coaching. If you need a coach to motivate you in a playoff game then you have no business playing in the NHL. Who are the heart and soul guys on this team? Who are the guys that will literally skate through a brick wall to win a hockey game? From Clarke & Ashbee to Poulin & Tocchet to Brind’amour & Podein to Roenick & Kapanen to Timonen & Briere; every successful Flyers team has had guys like that.

We’ll find out Sunday if this team does.

- BiggE

Wow, I have to say I really love this post and was expecting something totally different.

As typical as it might be to find negative fans around here, it’s also typical to find that group who goes against that and simple says “well it’s a 1-1 tied series, what are you complaining about?”

Here’s the reality. A team hungry to win a Cup doesn’t collectively play like what we saw yesterday. Another dose of reality is, yes it’s been two games but our team is lying down. The third fact is, should we win this round, we have to fight our way into three more rounds and I for one didn’t see much fight yesterday.
