MAF is still better than Lehner. 4@$6 would replace Crow's contract with no increase.

I did not see him linked to any team yet on twitter or the WEB. where did you read that? they are loaded with skill young forwards. they really need centers. I guess and maybe size which he fits.
- kmw4631

I didn't actually read it anywhere. They sign everyone though. Lol.

You can't just fire players if nobody wants them then they play. We're in uncharted waters here.

Every team is in the same boat. Didn't a couple teams somehow play over the cap this last season?

I think this talk of young players getting in playoff action is good experience and will help with their devolpment is one of those cliches /folklore nonsence that sports is known for. Hey I'd rather them be playing then not but I cant see how losing 4 straight games in the first round will make anyone a better player. If this was the case how is it the Leafs whose young players are a lot more talented then the Hawks, keep losing in the first round.
The Hawks I'm afraid are still years away from having a team that can go far in the playoffs.
Saying this hope I'm wrong and hope for a win today

I made the same joke about the leafs last week. Leafs have different problems than the hawks. By all the experts: the hawks have a crap coach, crap defense, washed up goaltender, & so on ... but we beat the oilers when most say we don't/didn't belong. I'm just not seeing the bad in the experience. I don't see cliche & I don't see as bad of play from rookies & other players as some call out. Yes, poop plays lead to a collapse, true of everyone. I've also been without hockey for awhile, so my excitement is elevated ... a lot.

Breadman you make some good points in reference to the leafs. The hawks though it's hard to make that same case with many of its youngsters imo who's regular season was disappointing.

Dach I would say has shown plenty of growth and that's a positive. Cat , strome , nylander if you just take their regular season productivity and extrapolate the playoffs I don't see the growth their.

With a cap situation Chicago is facing next year and not much room to make measurable changes like last year , I don't see much hope for next year.

That was my point, the hawks aren't the leafs, two completely different problems. Leafs I wouldn't call rookies with being in the playoffs; hawks, I would because we are the youngest team.

Yes, players did have down years, but Adb is rounding out his game. That's good & bad at the same time because his goals went down. Our problems go beyond him.

Maybe we have seen all that these players will be, or maybe something clicks. I really don't know, but they are too young for me to make a final verdict on. That's why I'm cautiously optimistic. Same with JC, good decisions & bad decisions. I just wait & watch, but I do like the direction we are heading. We don't have to agree though.

I don't think anyone will go where he wants just like last summer.

Elbows says trade Saad for a draft pick, let Crow go, and sign fat ass for 5 years at 7AAV. Saves 5 million against the cap to sign Kubalik.

I do think saad will be traded along with strome. Also would not be surprised if hawks move down in the first to acquire more assets seeing its deep draft.

any of you buying this from ecklund: "Word around the league was that they told Lehner as this was happening that they would still have a ton of interest come July 1 in bringing Lehner back to be the Hawks #1 for years to come."

I don't. Hawks could not afford him then and not now...that also means goodbye to crow.

- bogiedoc

Since Ek is reporting it, there’s a 0% chance it happens. But I’d be happy with Lehner coming back.

Anyone think it’s time to unleash Boqvist to dial up his offensive game? Nothing much to lose at this point. Pair him with a stay-at-home D and let his freak flag fly.

Ya I'm still trying to figure out why he's paired with Keith.

I think for boqvist to really live up to his potential needs to be paired a stay at home defensive minded defenseman de hann matta nothing against keith imo.

That's a start. Lehner's going to give up rebounds so get to the net.
