I think way too much gets put into one series.
The Flames did just fine in their series with elite wingers.
every year a team wins the cup and fans read way too into how they won. - Santo_44
True but it’s 2yrs in a row & they don’t look done. Way more goes into why teams get knocked out by CBJ. |

The conversation was that high star scoring wingers don't contribute enough to a team. The Flames best players are high scoring wingers.
Don't push away from what was being said. - Santo_44
not right now they arent. Gaudreau is 7th on team, Tkachuk 13th in playoff scoring |

Role players who step up drag teams. Stars gotta be stars but it’s usually not enough. Unsung heroes & warriors are important. |

Roeper predicted Leafs in 3. - gergeswillems
He is one of the four.
From memory - Burn as well.
Maybe a couple others running their mouths. But most here were nervous about the matchup.

If they dress all 4 stars on opening night next season, they're getting close to the "if you try the same thing over and over ..."! |

You must not have been here prior to the Columbus/ Toronto play in series.
Most people were nervous about playing Columbus and their style of play. There were maybe 3 or 4 posters consistently saying it wouldn't be close and complaining that all of the pundits were giving Columbus too much credit.
I'm sure Tampa is giving them plenty of respect after last year. - Leafs43
Yes I was here. I warned ppl not to take CBJ lightly. Roger came in statted out 100% every time why no contest & a sweep & cup. |

There were quite a bit more posting in here that Leafs would easily win the series. The 'I don't even know the 3rd and 4th liners on that team' comments were particularly ignorant (+' goaltenders very unproven - unlikely they will be as good as in regular season' comments) |

I love the smell of a good cliche in the morning.
Shanny was clear. Their players need more determination and mental toughness. They will look to Lehtonen and Sandin on D and add a complimentary piece. Move a few forwards to make it happen.
I don’t know how they address the mental toughness question. Do they move somebody out? Are there a few guys they bring in? Does JT offer the C to Matthews? |
