OK that is a bit of an exaggeration. He definitely was more physical than normal, and hopefully over the next few years he continues to use his size more... but he hardly threw his weight around.

Does it even matter? He was fantastic.

He seems to be the most liked and I'm always confused why. His analytics were a disaster all year.

Kerfoot looked real good before his injury.

He is one of the very few I have seen complaining about Matthews.

Whatever, everyone is entitled an opinion.

I'm starting to ignore advanced stats.

You know what the best indicator for "expected goals" is?

Actual goal scoring.

Until games are decided by shots towards the goal, it matters only very slightly.

Teams that are behind tend to have more shots on goal.

I am not one to hope Dubas trades Willy.

However, given Poile's comments today I would bet my hat Nylander for Ellis will be on the table.

Nearly a cash wash for both teams.

- Santo_44

You laughed at me for that suggestion a few days ago.

Would love Ellis on the Leafs.

Nylander for Hamilton?

Does CAR entertain that if they can't get by Boston. What do we have to add?

I doubt Carolina makes that trade. Nylander wouldn't get along with all those Finns on the Canes.

I would love it if the refs actually had to defend their calls. Never going to happen, but I would like to see them in front of a microphone being grilled.
- Leafs43

You'd be banned for life on hockey buzz if you said this in Paul Stewart's blog. I agree with you though. 👍

No, not likely.

Svechnikov, Teravainen and Necas can all play RW.

The little thimble doesn't do her bum justice.

Need the big pic on here and have it bumped every couple pages.

Curious only...

Who do you pick for the Calder?

Makar
Hughes
Kubalik

- Nighthawk

Makar.

He and MacKinnon carried Colorado. Rantanen had a down year and was hurt.

Had Makar not gotten hurt, he'd have run away in rookie scoring.

Hughes is an easy second, though.

As a subset tool they can be a general guide. For me though if not taken in a bigger contextual setting they don't really offer much.

I can say for certainty though if Cbus takes out Tampa after the Leafs .. there is going to be a lot of soul searching league wide on roster construction.

Just as a quick example .. Flames best line 1st 2 games has been 3rd with Dube / Lucic and Bennett ... who knew... Not the fancy guys ... the grinders.

Doubt that gets it done ...even with some good adds. They'll try to lock him up but if the cost is too much then he'd still fetch something better I think.

If Willie went out and had another "huge" year then it might be closer next summer.

You'd think the Leafs would get some compensation for the 5 year age difference.

I said I would do it if Holl and Jarnkrok were involved.

NSH would need a D back...They have 3 top 3 D men but after that its 6/7 guys and a wild card in Fabro.

What's the chance the Canes fall in love with Vatanen, sign him and make Pesce available via trade?

I'll guarantee this.

Matt Murray or JA will be on this team next year.

I think both will...but I guarantee Dubas gets at least one.
