Shanny needs to go find some players that played like he did. From a physical,size perspective is what I mean. Would help if they could score too!

Lehner had a few rough years of mental troubles and alcohol abuse and is on a great, clean path now. For continuation of his mental wellness, I don't think he would even remotely entertain the thought of signing in Toronto and have to live through that fishbowl!

There were certainly other factors.

But my point is regarding the narrative around the player. He was labeled as someone who can't win/doesn't care. Not unlike the way Nylander is now.

Maybe I just think writing off 22-24 year old players as perennial failures is moronic - especially when recent history has shown that similar players who were written off went on to have success.
