I am not one to hope Dubas trades Willy.
However, given Poile's comments today I would bet my hat Nylander for Ellis will be on the table.
Nearly a cash wash for both teams. |

Gonna nab us our own Lundqvist. |

Ellis is really good, but his concussions worry me...

Ellis?
He is a very good 2/3 d man.
Problem is he is 29 and Nylander is 24. |

I'm gonna out out on a limb here and say if the Leafs trade Nylander and keep Marner it will be a giant fail. |

I'd think long and hard about it, that's for sure.
I'd have to dig more but at first glance at his stats Ellis looks like a 2/3 guy...Probably in the same league as Rielly.
Rielly, Ellis, Muzzin is a good top 3 D. |

Kind of like keeping JVR and Bozak, but trading Kessel. |

For me, Marner seems to be the obvious choice. The return should be an elite top pairing D, while the return for Willie would hardly be a game changer. |

Trade Marner for Ellis and get extra.
Why is everyone so down on Willy? |

Kerfoot engages in hitting more than AM & JT. Willy doesn’t break a sweat & has a date with a comb always on his mind. Marner tries more than any of those 3. - Nighthawk
No he doesn't. He just skates around like Mason Raymond, but more skilled. AM, Nylander, JT in that order. Marner isn't worth the money based on playoff performance. |

I like Willy better than Marner.
I doubt they trade either but it sounds like Marner aint going anywhere. |

Agree but very few teams have that to move. Who are you looking at? |
