The starting point of what I posted was since they drafted Matthews, not before. He was drafted June 2016. 4 years+ 2 months. As far as the JT signing goes, they have not been better and have slid since.

Meanwhile, the Islanders have improved their results since JT walked. Go figure...

Trotz is the best coach in the league. If you think JT is a locker room issue youve really lost it. (frank)ing guy was one of the most important pieces on team Canada, one of the most respected players in the league ffs

They haven’t missed the playoffs since JT joined, only missed it because of crazy Covid circumstances. Saying they are somehow worse with either him of AM is aome of the dumbest poop ive read on the internet. Between this and two firsts/brannstrom and tycho for laffreniere im wondering wtf is going on in here tbh. Too much time on your hands boys!

What a weird thing to say. "They havent missed the playoffs since JT joined, only missed it because..."

They missed.

I heard on the radio yesterday that a Cumberland man was arrested for keeping a faun, and I remembered how into Narnia you are. Can we send you anything in jail?

While you are typing out your next comment about beyond stupid, lost it and ignorance, I'll dumb down my original post for you.

The season Matthews was drafted, the Leafs finished with the most points in 12 years and made the playoffs. 4 seasons later, they were a bubble team that missed the playoffs.

That puts them further from a cup than in 2016/17.

You made a bunch of misquotes about Matthews and JT. Relax.

Is it too early to start talking about which Canuck is in the lead for the Conn Smyrh?

The goalie is almost always in that conversation, but you have to give the edge to either Horvat or Hughes at this point no?

Who thinks that keeping wild animals as a pet is normal when you live on an Island. Glad to hear you’re not in jail, though the hospital isn’t much better I imagine. The food is probably worse...

They are a better team on paper now than they were then. You implied the isles are better without JT, which is incorrect and i called you on it. You’re getting called out for saying dumb poop. Relax.

You are literally the only regular who picked the Wild to win the series. The pessimist bunch all suggested it would be a tough series and could go either way but that they liked the Canucks to come through. Meanwhile, you stuck to your hate narrative. Who’s the whiner now? Spoiler alert, it’s you winky face.

So far I say Bro Horvat. Game winner in the Wild series and then a tying goal to carry the team into overtime in the series clincher. Two goals in the game 1 win against the blues.

Thats a pretty good start 5 games into the post season.

LMAO he just made a simple dig at those Hogtown douches that were parading around in Mathews first year. They on points total and not making the playoffs have regressed back since then.

We Canuck fans were shamed about how stupid our club was for not following their glorious plan. Now end the leaves love fest it doesn't matter if they have more talent on their club as a team they suck. We are witnessing what true team building bonding is with our Canucks. Game day lets get it going.

You might also say they have two of the most productive centermen in hockey join their club around then? That maybe they are better with them than without?

How does that get you closer to the cup because you had more points for 2 years? That gets you closer to a Prez Trophy. Missing the playoffs in 19/20 still is farther from the cup than 16/17. Three 1st round losses then a miss altogether. No progression after AM's rookie season.

Regular season. Try and remember, the context of my post was about the media hyping the Leafs as cup faves for those first 3 seasons of AM. Yet they tread water then fell out after AM's rookie season in the playoffs.

You are trying to hard to dance around what was said in my original post.

Technically, the NHL counts the play-in as part of the 2019/2020 playoffs. If you go to NHL.com and look at playoff leaders you will see Sebastian Aho at the top of the point leaders. They are counting his points against NYR. If the NHL considers the play-in as playoffs then the leafs literally made the playoffs this year.

That would end your argument, no?
