If the money was right, would you keep Strome AND offer sheet Cirelli? Moving Chytil to the wing.

No, I wouldn't offer sheet Cirelli, try and work out a trade with Tampa. If we got Cirelli, he replaces Strome. Keep Chytil at 3rd line center.

Great trade

Doesn't make up for the Cam Neely for Barry Pederson trade though.

If we go the trade route we might have to do something that few other teams will be willing to do, and thats to help them, and take some money off their books.

Id say go, Cirelli and Palat. Palat has 2 yrs left on his contract which is perfect for us as it expires right on time to resign Zib, Kakko and Fox.

Palat is one of nine Lightning players to have a NTC, which screws Tampa even more.

We are in Cap hell this year ourselves unless Hank retires or is traded without any money held

At this point in his career hes no better than Strome as far as production. It would be a lateral move for someone 10 yrs older than Strome.

Think it's you and me on Strome Hill. I just don't see a better option out there for the perceived cost.

Man, this off season will be like an eternity. Especially with waiting on the draft to finally happen.

Because at the end of the day he played fairly well and it cant be ignored. If we dont find a sure fire 2C, then I dont have a problem keeping him as long as we dont overpay.

Well thats the thing, pride. JD and Gorton will tell him that the future doesnt go through Hank anymore and that he will likely be a healthy scratch.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. The point of the off-season though is to upgrade as many positions as possible.

2nd Line Center
LHD defenseman to pair with Trouba
any upgrade that pushes Staal out of lineup
4th Line Center

If Gorton can positively address those spots, then we can rock n roll come December!

Staal wasn't as bad this year as he was last year. Let him finish his contract out and give the kids another year to develop. I can see him being a D coach soon after he retires, one of the few players that get to play their whole career with one team. I view this season as limbo with buyouts and contracts ending and who knows what the hell is happening with the 'rona.
