How about any great players drafted 14th, 15, 16th etc...???
Cause if you know what you’re doing...then you draft the future great player at 13...rather then let him fall to 14, 15, 16 etc...
That’s some kind of logic you got going there.
Is that Lime Kool-Aid you’re drinking? - bruceflyers
yeah, like when Boston picked at # 13, 14 and 15 in 2015.
Their future would've looked fantastic if they only picked those guys taken with picks # 16, 17 and 18. |

Kerfoot, Kapanen, and Johnsson may also be moved.
Marleau was a Lou signing and the 3rd year of his contract was always going to be problematic with 3 young stars all ready to sign breakout deals.
No way the Leafs move Marleau without giving up something potentially significant. Then again, who was the last star player drafted 13th overall? Meh. - mjones242

See you in...December.
Predicted 4 forwards making 40 million
is a completely asinine allocation of
cap space ✅
Predicted columbus would win non-playoff play-in round ✅
Brought to the attention of the fanbase that Shanahan/Dubas are totally inept ✅
I think that about does it.
My work here is done.
Book it. |

Trade Nylander and Holl (Minnesota boy) for Brodin and Foligno. Sign Pietrangelo.
Rielly-Pietrangelo
Muzzin-Brodin - Steven_Seagull
Say that works out, two real questions:
1. What are your thoughts on bottom pairing, Dermott or Sandin/WHO?
2. Forwards is where I get stuck, who do we go after? What's your line up look like?

So logically it falls on moving support players to find cap to fix needs. Hawks did this after cap wins to pay Toews & Kane & how did that work out?
Firepower didn’t get it done. Take away 1 game & it was very underwhelming.
Marner is my obvious choice to trade. He affords the most cap space to do what’s necessary. His contract is difficult to get the best value but cap space is golden now & for a few years. Keeping a 1 2 punch with AM & JT is dynamic. Enough firepower from the wingers is still there. |

Getting rid of Marner gets you a decent tough winger, a good top 4 dman... - MisterBrown

To Vegas: Marner
To Toronto: Reilly Smith, Shea Theodore
To Nashville: Marner
To Toronto: Johansen, Fabbro
There's two deals... now you can dissect them if you like. My take, Leafs get two bigger bodies who are proven they can play, lose 1 player. Plus they don't have to spend 9 mill plus/ year to get Pietrangelo assuming he's available. |
