so just finished watching the Canucks blues matchup. The Nux had more effort and the goaler played better. Blues goaler let in a couple of weak goals. Can't expect that every game.
All in all a good effort and they capitalized. Had a few posts as well. Bonus was i didn't even realize that loser virtanen was playing. |

He doesn’t blame Babcock. He doesn’t mention Babcock. He doesn’t allude to Babcock. Other than that, I think you pretty well nailed it. - Canada Cup
Welllllll....didn't say the "word" Babcock. He DID say how were little better after November when he was giving his evaluation of the team. A sly way of saying "after Babcock got fired..."

Why don’t you “slyly” look at the record after November. He also talked about how the team was inconsistent. OMG, he’s attacking, Keefe.
If you travel to the Yucatan, you can find a field with nine stones in a circle. Under each stone is a ring. If you and eight friends go there you will be transported to the lost City of Atlantis.
I have the one true map. DM me for sale details. You seem astute enough to appreciate this offer. |

Drop it Max. The issue was about cops being in schools handcuffing with 8 year olds who were acting out. 8 year olds. Everyone is trying to let you walk away from something where you messed up. Take the offer and move on. - Canada Cup
you forgot to mention the part where the father of the kid asked the cops to scare him a bit.
(that's bad parenting as well btw in my view - in particular if it's a problematic child. seems the kids parents don't get along at all (not alligned on what to do with their kid) -- broken families are definitely not a goot environment for kids to grow up in , and any potential development issues only get worse when parents are not up for the job) |

Now Cathal Kelly, an unusually patient and thoughtful sports writer, has had enough of Dubas. He is basically calling him a smartass.
And I completely agree.
The best part of the interview: in the two year since Dubas replaced LL, the team has got worse. Shanny replies, um uh we certainly have taken a step back.
That was probably the most honest and insightful comment in the postmortem.
Not Dubas snapping “we have to pick in the top five” when asked how to get a guy like Seth Jones. - gamerdoc

Just looking at Tampa on CapFriendly, would they be a good trading partner?
The only big(ish) money guy they can trade is Killorn. Palat, Gourde, and Johnson have full NTC, whereas Killorn’s NTC becomes a 16 team no trade list on “July 1st.” If he’s willing to come to Toronto, the Leafs could try to get Cernak included.
Killorn and Cernak for Kapanen and Liljegren?
Tampa saves 1.2M going from Killorn to Kapanen, and with Liljegren still on his ELC they’ll save a lot more since Cernak is a RFA. With Hedman, McDonagh, and Sergachev Tampa can shield Liljegren pretty well.

A legit shutdown line, and a physical presence on all three D pairings. ~1.8 Cap space. - Steven_Seagull
Cernak is not a legit top-pair guy. He looks decent on the second pairing, but would struggle against top opponents. He also has a murder-streak that must be kept in check, or he takes bad penalties when he decides to go head-hunting.
I'd hate to see Killorn go, but he's an obvious target with his lack of trade protection, good contract with term left, and his stock is up from his recent career season. I have to think that Tampa's cap issues would demand they seek picks and prospects for him and not a roster player with a not-insignificant cap hit. Tampa is in deep cap doo doo and shedding a million or two isn't going to help much.

No he's really not. Zaitsev was poop here. - RogerRoeper
Not sure that's fair. His first year he was good. Then didn't he get some weird sickness and the second year he took a step back? At least he had some 'bite' to his game. 4 mill is not a big deal imo. Rather him AND Brown then Ceci... |

In our few play-off appearances we have failed to get consistent production from our third line. Sure we'll get the odd goal here and there from them, but our opponent can rest their two pairing D for our first two lines. We need a third line that has some net presence and puck control. The good old cycle game in other words.
Good potential on our 4th line with Engvall and Spezza. If we upgrade on Cliifford slightly, we might be on our way here.
Oh, and get rid of the Goat and 52. Won't even call him by name. |

people that think it's ok for their kids to hit and curse at other kids and teachers - yes, they are bad parents. that's independent of any underlying conditions their kid might have. apart from the rights of the kid with development issues - there is also something like the rights of the other kids. |
