But is he cheaper than Taylor was in HIS first contract?

And the news just came out two hours ago. Your source immediately called you with Appert's salary?

Stop.

show me a player that did not get better in year 2 or 3 with taylor

our ahl prospects are much better now vs 2 years ago

๐Ÿ˜‚ Name anyone, IN ROCHESTER, other than Olofsson that gets the blood pumping.

Tage? Stop.
Mitts? Ffs.
Borgen? Bottom 6 guy.
Bryson? Pfft. Maybe, MAYBE makes the NHL.

I want Taylor's first coaching salary and let's compare it to this guy's.

They obviously want a guy who focuses on the DEVELOPMENT part of it, rather than a guy who plays all his AHL vets 20 minutes a night and STILL GETS BEAT IN THE FIRST ROUND.

- Powerslave

yeah the moves they made the last few months clearly show that

I mean they hired the best gm they could

they have the best nhl head coach

they hired the best assistant gms

I mean I learned how to connect dots well before kindergarten

They've spent a gazillion dollars on EVERY part of that hockey department since they took over.

Time for something different.

And really, you're acting like they went and ruined the '84 Edmonton Oilers.

He recently completed his first season as head coach of the U.S. National Under-18 Team at the NTDP in 2017-18, leading them to an NTDP-record finish in USHL play and a first-place finish at the 2018 Under-18 Five Nations Tournament.

Last season he served as an assistant coach at the Under-18 World Championship, helping lead Team USA to its record 10th gold medal. He also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Menโ€™s National Team at the 2017 IIHF Menโ€™s World Championship.

In his 20 years in the collegiate coaching ranks, Appert has recruited and helped develop 13 All-Americans, 37 all-league selections, four Players of the Year, four Hobey Baker Finalists and 23 players who have gone on to play in the NHL

You can like or dislike the hire, but that position and that result makes him qualified to coach an AHL team.

It's not like we're talking about the Hamburg varsity hockey coach here

no, they told us money is no longer an issue

they hire rookie gms
fail

inexperienced head coaches or retreads that nobody wanted
fail

no experienced assistant gm with success

spend money on scouting department
fail

the one thing they had going, a decent ahl team, clip everyone with a .667 coaching record

and rochester was a joke before taylor got there

they have literally done nothing right with this franchise, other then lucking out and getting eichel and dahlin

well lets see the best prospects drafted from 2013 to 2017, and exclude the first round guys

https://www.hockeydb.com/...aft/teams/dr00005054.html

compher traded
hurley, head case that never made the ahl
bailey, baptiste, bums that never made the nhl, but got better under taylor in ahl
petersen, never signed

lemieux traded
karabacek bad pick
cornel bad pick but got better in ahl
johansson, improved every year in ahl

guhle traded
borgen TBD

olofsson good
asplund better each year
pu bad pick/traded

then the botts guys, still playing overseas

I mean I guess you can blame taylor because Glotov never made the nhl

terry left his wife and kids for a cocktail waitress

the cocktail waitress blasted people who work for the bills, after a great season, so she can ensure her life style

and she is in the media more then the other 30 nhl owners combined

and when terry has his massive heart attack and drops dead, expect the bills and sabres to move where kim can make more money

- homiedclown

Anyone know which kids he had before he dumped his first wife? Any kids with Kim?

How Trevor Zegras evolved into possible Sabres draft pick

When Seth Appert wanted to deliver a lesson to the Under-17 team at the USA Hockey National Development Team Program, he showed a series of video clips featuring center Trevor Zegras.

Not for the reason one might expect, though. Zegras, an 18-year-old center from the NTDP's Under-18 team, is best known for his remarkable highlight-reel, no-look, behind-the-back passes.

However, Appert, coach of the Under-17 team at the NTDP, used Zegras as an example of the tenacity needed to retrieve the puck in the offensive zone. The lesson: No matter how talented a player is, they won't be effective unless they play with that sort of effort.

However, Zegras would not have been the subject of such a talk a year earlier. His evolution from a skilled forward to a dynamic two-way player makes him a possible target of the Buffalo Sabres with the seventh overall pick at the draft June 21 in Vancouver.

"Trevor is a world-class talent," Appert told The Buffalo News in a recent phone interview. "I think he, in my opinion โ€” being inside the program but looking at it a little bit from the side because heโ€™s the other birth year โ€” you could make an argument he grew further than anyone in their two years. He was a young, talented, skilled player in the U-17 year. Really skilled. He has dynamic offensive ability.

"His competitiveness, his willingness and want to go get pucks for himself and to work and to hunt pucks grew so much in his two years at the program that it turned him into one of the most dangerous offensive players in the world at that birth year. It was really fun to watch his transformation from being the skill guy that didnโ€™t always play the game with the tenacity it deserves and watch his game mature into the elite player he is."

He's got balls and sandpaper. He might have a little Lindy in him.

"Instead of shaking hands after the 2-1 Engineers' triumph, the two teams threw punches for several embarrassing minutes while RPI coach Seth Appert and Union coach Rick Bennett had to be restrained.."

Was it maybe because Taylor was a CHEAP HIRE?

I'm starting an AHL coaching salary database, btw, and really look forward to knowing what everyone makes. ๐Ÿ˜

Btw, Seth Appert is just as qualified to coach in the AHL as Taylor was when he was given that job.

I think the firing of Taylor and the hiring of Seth A is all Kevyn Adams with approval by the Pegulas and this passionate fire being thrown at the Pegulas is no doubt misguided and just a continuation of the popular narrative.

I'm sure they had no idea about Seth A but Kevyn Adams and the hockey people did and he wanted his type of guy in Rochester which Taylor wasn't for whatever reason/ If we had Toronto type media we would probably know what that was.
