Oh, let me try and find it.

I was not able to find a time but here are two reputable sources that mentioned it.

Mangiapane would be ideal. He could slide ride into that 2RW hole.

He will probably have no hair left playing for us

They specified that they may be scared of what he’s awarded in arbitration.

Can't they trade him before he accepts to go to arbitration

Copp news ...

·
Aug 13, 2020
Replying to @ScottBilleck
On Copp being 2C. As a two-way C, Maurice says he understands Copp's argument. But Copp needs to be able to generate offence with his two wings. Have to produce. He's not far off of it

@ScottBilleck
Copp making more plays and at speed, and not changing game to do so. Not limiting what he can do.
.

I would take him for the 3rd or 4th line thars it

Now THAT makes sense.

And I'm sure teams aren't lining up to help the Sabres out.

Yes but they could walk away from the ruling if they don't like the money amount so this makes little to no Sense

Scandella played very well under Ralph. He and Joker were Buffalo's best pairing until he got traded. Not a good trade by Botts

They wouldn't be the only team afraid of what he would be awarded via arbitration.

Well his cap hit was $3.5 and his salary was $3.3.

Stands to figure he's going to get at least that or more.

"The arbitrator's decision is binding and final. However, teams have “Walk-Away Rights” when the player elects arbitration. ... If the award issued is for one-year and $3.5 million or greater, the team can (within 48 hours) tell the player, NHLPA, and NHL in writing that it does not intend to go forward with the award."

I guess they could roll the dice.

No, but he was a UFA , would he have re-signed in this tire fire? The really bad trade was why trade for Frolik? That seemed to be just window dressing to toss the fans a broken bone.

The blues at the time they traded for Scandella were desperate. Jay bo almost died and has a heart condition. If I remember that correctly

How many trades are made before arbitration?

They should have traded him at the deadline but maybe the rest of the league just isn't into him? Who knows.

Imo, I believe Botts wanted him in large part to bolster a weak PK. I also did an analytics comparison of him, bennett, monahan and another player that eludes me right now. Frolik fared well

Frolik was supposed to be the Sobotka replacement and it failed miserably. Both played similar roles.

Remember when things were all going well this past year?

Skinner - Johansson / Sobotka was a thing

And they won games when it was a thing
