The Sabres should switch to NASCAR, they keep around in a circle.

If the consensus #1 pick were a center, this would somewhat be a discussion worth having.

You dont trade the #6 center in hockey for a rookie winger

- jcragcrumple

they would have to throw in berglund and sobotka

you kind of need to know where you stand with your roster before the crazy stuff starts

I mean they already had one player penciled in the starting lineup and he walked because the owners insisted on a two way contract instead of a one way deal

it's time to do more then just pass out free jerseys

- homiedclown

Who's saying they're not actively evaluating these players? Who stays and who goes? We both know that if this team simply re-signs its own players, it's going to be a (frank)ing disaster. And let's be honest here, as poor as the Pilut situation has been, the fact of the matter is, he is absolutely replaceable.

The team is well aware of the range that Reinhart will cost. They're probably within a million or less gap. Same with Kahun and Olofsson. It's not like these people sit on their asses until November 15th and say oh (frank) we've got guys to sign. It's a process man.

Nylander, a player with similar production to Reinhart (take it easy, Reinhart's better) went all the way to the last qualifying day.

I think a team's objective is to make sure their players show up to training camp. And we've got a long way to go.

This franchise is going no place fast, why keep wasting money and time with Eichel when we can move him for the number 1 pick this year plus more and free up more money. People can't look past Eichel, one man can't do it all and he's the one man. People have a love fest with these players, we are to far away.
- SABRES 89

Free up money for what? Free agents? So they can sign them way above market value for a continuous stream of whipping boys?

I get your point but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Or even more when it's a rare bird.

The pick is Alexis Lafreniere, if the Sabres trade Eichel to the Rangers that is the pick , no questions asked.

What best players >Eichel and Dahlin ? you build from the net out. People can't take off the sunglasses when it comes to Eichel, great player but we should be way farther a head and we aren't. 3 head coaches and 3 Gm's later with Eichel and still nothing.
- SABRES 89

but the new jerseys

when you have the longest playoff drought in the nhl , everything should be on the table

if someone wants to massively overpay it should be considered

- homiedclown

Ain't gonna happen. And why would you trust anyone in management to get the right deal?

This team is going no place with Eichel, we have been going in circles now for 9 years, 5 of them with Eichel. No matter what happens, people will complain no matter what so it doesn't matter, you re stock yet again with moving Eichel.

when roy "sucked and was out of the lineup" and the team rallied to sneak in the playoffs

it was an ewok in net leading the charge, not miller

building the team around a head coach that plays a goalie with blurred vision and the owner is not a successful blue print IMO

I'm not buying a left winger for a center, who is not guaranteed to be as good. Never.

I mean, even with this being a totally separate point, is a fair point.

I can care less about the Rangers, we aren't getting any better with Eichel, people can believe me or they don't have to belive me, Eichel will want out after this next year if things don't improve. So you have a chance here to make a huge deal and get Alexis Lafreniere and more pieces, why not do it now while we have a huge opportunity.

It sucks I know but what can we do, this organisation can't see it......... yet but Eichel will show them the light very soon.

Imo, the playoff drought extends out another 3-4 years. At least. After all. What are the chances of a rookie-dominant team overtaking the top three in the division without a no.1 center?
