Few thoughts

Win, lose or draw, Shea Weber is the best defenseman on the ice 81 times out of an 82 schedule. The guy has been nominated for the Norris trophy multiple times against Lidstrom and Chara and walked away empty handed multiple times. Chara isn’t that guy anymore and Lidstrom is retired. We shouldn’t be living in a world where Erik Karlsson and PK Subban has one and Shea Weber does not.

Carter Hart and Phil Myers we’re our two best players, which is a shame for a team filled with leadership. Hart and Myers have never been to the playoffs before.

I don’t care how most of you feel about JvR, nobody should be comfortable with Farabee and Aube-Kubel getting more rope during their rookie season. Happy they’re here. Great goal by Farabee tonight. However, the small details. The chips ins. The refuses. The where to be. The strength. Those small details, you need to win and veterans like JvR have it.

This game shouldn’t have been this close.

Unfortunately with Hart and Price, I'd expect all the games to be close or at the very least competitive.

Montreal are no slouches on D either.

Giroux and Couturier didn’t have great games tonight. They were hanging on like everyone else.

I liked Giroux’s game tonight.

Coots 100% had a great game. Few huge hits, a beast all night, quality shots, drew multiple penalties. Watch the game.
- ClaudeFather

Great game means our top line controlled the play. Scored. They didn’t. They hung on like everyone else. Learn hockey.

It most likely will stress me out but that’s fine if they win

Giroux isn’t a shoot first player and has made his money by managing the PP with his first pass mindset. I don’t know why that would change now.
- SuperSchennBros

But he’s only passing to the point...needs to move around...create switches. He’s way too static...a penalty killer’s dream come true.

He should have punched him... if it wasn’t over zoom

Actually, I remember now, it was worse. He said Eh-leon.

I was in the kitchen and I was wondering who the hell Ellen is to answer questions.

Yep. I was thinking back the other day to 04, 08 and 10. So many close games you forget how it was because it’s been a while.

Yes, Hart was not going to let in anything soft.
Holtby was soft as puppy poop and the Caps crumbled. They got the lead and never reliquinshed it. Sure a lot of guys need to play better no doubt.

Carter Hart was a stud tonight. Flyers win a game in the playoffs in a goalie duel. Doesn t happen very often over the last 2 decades.

Well there wasn’t a lot of PP time tonight. The first one early we scored on, where he set up the goal. Second was a 4-on-3 where he can only pass high, if Coots is in the crease...

I don’t understand what you’re asking for...

I guess to not be 0/12 coming into the game. MOVEMENT OF PLAYERS-not just the puck...not just G.

NO MORE DAVE HAKSTOL PP

We’ve been using the same Power Play format since Peter Laviolette put it together in 2012. Giroux has been the staple of it since this time. I would argue our success has come from the power play for over a decade. So whatever changes you want to see, lay it out in detail. Tonight I saw a Power Play goal.

The boys looked like they were trying not to make mistakes, a bit too conservative, but they got the job done. Never smack a gift horse, whatever that is, in the mouth. It wasn’t pretty, but they won

He said their line...which would include Farabee.

Hey i know you want to pretend you’re seeing something that the rest of us need to “learn hockey” to see...but that would be pure horse sht...cause the 1st line was working it down low most shifts. Coutts was a monster...drew one penalty late in the 3rd...refs could have called 4 more.

Coutts was dominant out there.

Giving him 4 missing front teeth/out of 4 for tonight.

Now hayes...different case...played horribly.

BUT good news...only 1 game...play better friday.

Absolutely. That’s the most important thing. Play great or play poorly, all that matters is if you won. Tomorrow the paper will say Flyers lead series 1-0.

That said, they have to play better, lol.
