people were saying the same about the pens. No pressure on the Habs.
- deadpoulet

I think the Flyers are better than the Pens, but that's just me. I've read some posts from Habs fans saying that because they bear the mighty Pens that they should be able to sweep the Flyers. haha oh how expectations change.

Can someone please remind me who the Habs beat in the 2010 playoffs right before they played the Flyers?

It will be interesting to see the Canadiens centers match up against the Flyers'

Younger, smaller Centers going up against guys who are a pain in the ass to play against

Can you explain to me how a series that took place a decade ago is somehow relevant today?

Because the Habs fans were super confident that they dethroned the defending Stanley Cup Champion Penguins right before they played the Flyers. The Flyers went on to shut them out 3 times in a 5-game series win.

So while the series is not relevant, the mindset is exactly the same based on the previous opponent.

I can. For all playoff series since the beginning of time, a team's performance in the previous series directly affects the next series. There's really no reason to play as you can simply look at the opinions on line and decide who the winner is.

I thought that each series is distinct and that even head to head reg season results don't matter all that much.

Sounds good... tell you what, after the Habs win tonight we'll get Price to autograph the game puck for Hart, really make his day... he can go home after the game and put on his Price pyjamas, stick that puck under his pillow and get all tucked in nice and comfy... no worries, we'll leave a night light on for the little fella!

My concern is that the Flyers played the hardest in the round robin cause they were the new kid on the block. I mean, TB,Caps, and Bruins really had nothing to prove cause they've all been there and done that. The Flyers were looked at as having the most to prove and probably played with the most intensity. Will be interesting to see what happens when things are ramped up. I think the Flyers are a deeper team than the Habs who basically were lucky to even have a chance at the playoffs and I'm picking the Flyers in 6. Be gentle, I'm new here.
- Phillywhiteout

That the Flyers played the hardest shouldn't be a concern, it should be a positive. If it was the other way around then it should be a concern.
