Dubas was trying to solve two problems - 1 was Lou's creation (Zaitsev's contract) and the second was Dubas creation (giving out over priced contracts to the collective boy wonders.

the judgement that Dubas made was that Ceci (who's pretty useless) could play at a level good enough to replace Zaitsev.

the on-ice defensive product that Dubas assembled - was (I'm being polite) inadequate... that is on Dubas.

The only mistake in the trade could still happen and that's if he re-signs the bum. THAT, would be bad by Dubas.

the additional mistake that you are probably forgetting was giving up Connor Brown to pay for that contract.. so why did he need to take Ceci back as well? and at 4.5. No I'm not buying it... Dubas felt Ceci could replace Zaitsev - not the contract issue - but from a hockey perspective. That's a massive failure in judgement

Dubas did exactly the same thing with Barrie. Massive failure in hockey judgement.

Team defense could never be good enough when you best RHD is Justin Holl.

It’s so sad. I lived there off and on for 9 years, the last thee in D.C. over the Carter/Reagan time and it was never like this even under Reagan. Years of Koch $, Murdoch crap have done so much damage.

If this election is even close I worry that things will never change.
