if dubas does nothing, he needs to be fired.
If shanny does fire him, shanny needs to be fired.
This 40 million in 4 players isnt working.
I can some small moves being made, I don't believe dubas has the stones to move willie or marner.
But I could be wrong, we'll see

So, you want Shanny fired no matter what??

I actually think he may try... but the fallback will be I just didn’t get the offer I wanted.

Whereas I think Leafs may have to take A tiny bit less to fix what everybody sees as a glaring problem.

To do nothing it’s just not acceptable. This team has more than enough offensive fire power.
The problem has been and will continue to be in their own end.

Pence is a brainless Chalk Elemental. Harris will wipe the floor with him.

BTW, remember the past few weeks I've said the Leafs' paying huge July 1st bonuses make their players have more value? There you go. Friedman just mentioned it. Nylander is actually owed very little $$$$. That will be huge as many teams are cutting budget this offseason due to COVID losses.

I think actual cash will even mean more than "Cap".

The Maple Leafs have more flexibility than some realize. Nylander’s actual cash payments drop below his cap hit the next four seasons, Kasperi Kapanen’s for the next two. (My understanding of the post-signing no-trade promise to Nylander was that it was intended to be solely in the immediate aftermath of the agreement.) In 2021–22, Andreas Johnsson and Alex Kerfoot join that list. That has value in a tight-cap, tight-cash world. Toronto will test the market to see what dance partners pop up.

oh ffs.
You realize others have said this throughout the media and on here for the past year or so?
Jesus.
You spew old news or info that has already been said elsewhere, act like its your own and then pat yourself on the back everytime someone in the Toronto media, (the same media you constantly whine dont know anything) says something similar to it again.

and thats an issue too, which seems to only ever be a leaf issue, not getting full value for a superstar or trade.

Never once have I seen anyone say it on here or in the media prior to Friedman. In fact, on JUly 1st the media and many fans laughed at those bonuses.

Max and Santo are the two of the most mind-numbingly stupid people to ever post on this site.

Especially Santo. But then again, Max is pretty stupid.

For all you nooks saying this was a 'disabled kid':

Crump, who is representing the family of Floyd, the Black man who died on May 25 after a white Minnesota police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes, said the boy suffers from several psychiatric conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiance disorder and adjustment disorder with mixed disturbance of emotional conduct

Translation of the bolded:
Kid that never was educated well by his parents.

I think you should get full value, I just don’t think he won’t.

And that’s a good enough reason to turn the trade down.

Other GM’s see a chance to take advantage. It’s been beaten to death that Leafs need an upgrade on the backend. Especially with 2 or 3 gone.

What does full value mean? Like a $ amount on a trade in? Is there a guy they like at a price they willing to pay? I don’t think they start by saying we have to get rid of Marner or Nylander and grab the best offer no matter what.

No it's a dumb trade of any surface. He's not just saying it saves cap space, he's saying Nylander has very little value. Far worse players get more for a few weeks at the trade deadline. 1 year ago Berger claimed it would cost Nylander to get the past his prime Wayne Simmonds for 6 weeks. Simmonds went for very little of course.

Nylander will only go for a very good DMan. He's 24, 31 goals, signed through his prime with very little actual $$ left on his deal.

- RogerRoeper

Nylander will bring a mid to low first round pick. Rangers, Sens, Devils and Ducks have more than one first round pick. Rangers are unlikely trade partners as they already have their own cap issues. LA has lots of quality prospects and cap space.

Nobody is going to make this easy for the Leafs. But, I do think Nylander is a great fit for multiple teams. However with the compressed cap deals will be very hard to complete.

Teams are desperate to win.

How about equal value. Fixing a need by trading an asset that you have a surplus of.

I do believe with Mitch you could fix the need and give yourself more cap space.

With Willy I don’t think you save the cap space.

you have to have someone willing to work with you to make a deal like that happen.

if he doesnt have a fit, then I dont want him to make a move for the sake of it and get 50% on the dollar for players
