Even if this team JB has built goes on to contend for the next decade, people will poop on him in retrospect unless he wins a cup, and even then some will never like him.
- NorthNuck

True except for winning a cup. Those who eventually do win a cup will be treated as Gods; GM, coaches, and players alike.

This is the life of a Canuck fan. He’s arguably our most successful GM (from an on-ice perspective) yet I don’t think you could find one fan (especially on here) who liked or admired him. I think most of us still resent what he left behind when he was canned.

Another reason why some of us are so sceptical of JB. Just waiting for him to fail like so many before him.

It is okay to hate/ dislike Jim. He has met my expectations and timelines so I have little to say against him. I was expecting a bubble team this year nd a 10 th place team last year.

I still think this is a top 10 team next year , we will find out if they ever play a season next year.

Tyler Toffoli is still unfit to play. Has not skated with his #Canucks teammates yet.

If he were to be canned after this playoff series his legacy would be two-fold, yes he lost and drafted really well from great draft positions, but, the lineup is chalked full of overpaid bottom six players which will potentially present cap issues.

Listening to a Green presser.... Patterson is a dolt. He asked a question about the Canucks having no playoff experience going in but now they have 4 games. Has he looked at the roster and playoff experience or just following the dumb narrative? There are kids with none but the roster actually has a lot. Finals, cups and games played.

Brainless hockey media.

I liked some of his innovations for Canucks to get competitive edge. But as a GM his trades and drafting sucked for the most part. Result we were left with a bag of poop after the Cup run failed in agony.

I can see us losing to St. Louis and him not playing a minute of hockey, plus, he doesn’t re-sign. Goodbye second round pick and good prospect for nothing #Canuckluck

Its the risk you take at the deadline. Canucks were right to push for the playoffs at this point.

Well good thing Canucks have another day for things to change. How long has TT been out a week now? There was no disclosure for gone for the series etc so sounds like he's day to day on injury status for return soon.

Yes...the point was that I don’t think it’s that uncommon for bottom feeder teams like we were. But I’d have to check!

- Calgary has five straight first rounders in their lineup from 2012 to 2016.
- Chicago has their last four straight first rounders playing for them.
- Columbus has seven of their last eight first rounders in the lineup today against Tampa.

The Avs missed a year but look at the guys they have from 2011 on. Then they still have 3 young studs in the minors.

I sure am glad the Northwest division no longer exists.

You have to be the most positive person I’ve ever read on here. Never seen anything like it.

You probably have a positive spin on human trafficking and cancer.

TBH, I never thought Joe Sakic would be much of a GM. But he proved me wrong. He’s got his team in a very competitive position right now with a lot of young studs in the organization. If they can manage the cap going forward their future will be incredibly bright.

I hate them.

Ya I agree, I was for the trade, I’m just saying Canuck luck will make it pointless and meaningless.

Who’s the one here thats been talking about Pierre-Luc Dubois?

Six points in six games? Four goals? 22 year old.

That Duchene trade. I laughed at him and thought he was an idiot riding it out......then Ottawa happened.

I am trying to keep an eye on Cirelli . I have heard a few times that he will probably get an offer sheet this year. I don't know much about him . He looks good today.

First three selections in 2016 were Matthews, Laine, and Dubois. Funny that all the talk surrounded Matthews and Laine. PLD seemed to be the forgotten one and just might end up as the star of this year’s playoffs (if he keeps going like he is).

Who would have thunk it...

When you were as bad as the Canucks were under Benning, with an empty cupboard left by Gillis, I should hope your first round picks are in your lineup.

Look at Toronto, since they drafted Morgan Rielly 5th overall in 2012, their 2013 (Frederik Gautheir) 2014 (Nylander) 2015 (Marner) 2016 (Matthews) 2017 (Liljegren) 2018 (Sandin) all played in their lineup this year.

Buffalo the same, since 2013 six straight 1st rounders in their lineup. Not the playoffs, but still.

Buffalo is a good example of what a poor dressing room culture gets you...no accounability. They are going no where fast.

Leafs had a first overall pick in AM's year...take him away from the group and I don't view their six other drafts as anything special except for the Marner pick. They were also bad for a really long time and had a bunch of younger support pieces in place by the time Marner and AMs were in the line up.

With a number 5, 7, 23 pick the Canucks were able to draft QH, EP40 and Boeser - pretty solid haul in my opinion (would take that core over Buffalo, TO or Calgary all day long). The Avs group is very good and hopefully will have their hands full with the Canucks over the next four years.
