Cirelli in his second year with 16 G in a shortened season is okay. I know Gauds numbers are similar but I have done some reading about Gauds and his game where he struggles and protected minutes.
This is also Gaudettes second season and one is playing in the playoffs and one is not.

Don't count Gauds out. He lost his spot to "unfit to play" and then changing a winning line up was hard to get back in. New series now he may be injected for balanced offence. Then again if Gauds could learn the PK he'd be in over Motte. We all know someone is going to get banged up to create a spot.

Learning the PK isn’t as easy as you make it sound. A C 1st of all has to be good in the dot. Players don’t get a season to learn. They have to already be good on D. Gaudette’s weakness is D & FO’s.
As much as I do line ups ad nauseum they have built in purposes that I put into all my considerations. Playing GM & coach wrapped into one. I did that in my sporting days. I know it’s apples n oranges but anyone cannot just pencil in a line up.
I make no claims to know any more than anyone else here but I do put in the work when I do my juggling.

That was after he was "not fit to play" like I said in the post hard to get back in to a winning line up. Then the point if he could PK there would be no question over the others.

There will be a lot of teams looking to make changes this offseason. NHL now with this playin round created way more bubble teams lol. It will be interesting with new cap and expansion factors what deals can be made.
