First thing to determine is whether we keep the pick or send it to Minnesota. I think we find out a lot about the team based on their decision. If they keep it, we are going for it next season. If we send it to Minn, maybe we are talking a step back like Chicago did and possibly miss the playoffs next year.

Next is to create salary cap which isnt going to be easy. I think you dump guys like Horny, Johnson, who knows what is happening with Bjugstad, I hate ZAR so I'd put him on the list too...

Then we have to figure out who the team is now. This team has no identity and bread & butter like we had in 2016. We can still be a fast team, but we arent built for it right now. Too many below average puck moving defenders and too many forwards who are passengers. Clear them out and lets see what we have.

It's going to be a tough offseason. A lot of teams expected a sizeable cap rise and now we have to operate with a flat cap at best. not good

I had the exact same thought so I rushed over to look at the standings and no, they were right in the thick of things with a lot of the other teams (high 70s, low 80s in points). Totally undigestable.

If we send #15 to MIN we better be getting a sweetener in return. As for ZAR, he is good and cheap for what he is. Nothing is gained by moving (in fact, we will lose). I just want the GM, JR or another, to be as aggressive as possible. The #15 is now more valuable than we thought our 1st round pick would have been. Parlay that into something that can help us now. I give our window about 2 years. 3 is pushing it. Trade all draft picks, the end is nigh.
