My damn well right answered the "Marner, Reilly and a pick now" question. I blatently stated that you would trade those two straight up for Eichel and Dahlin. But whatever you think there, champ.
To make it clear Id never trade our Hart Candidate center and Norris candidate D for Seth Jones, and certainly not for Marner and Reilly. I think this makes it clear. Im done for today. The inability of some of you to comprehend points has exhausted me. Good luck tonight. Lafrienierre is exactly the grit the Leafs nesd. - ThundernLightning
Who are these Hart and Norris trophy candidates you speak of?
I havent seen them. Reilly was a Norris candidate last year BTW. |

Seattle is in an amazing position with all that cap going forward. |

So keep in mind I know nothing about junior players, but from what I understand people think he can step in and help the team immediately.
So grab him, trade Marner and Nylander, elevate Robertson (no doubt Marner and Nylander >> Robertson and Lafrenierre), and take the money to sign a couple of defencemen.
Team looks different next year, which is needed. - Atomic Wedgie
Leafs need d-men, and i'm ok with selling the farm to get a top guy in the short term, but Leafs need to (frank)ing draft some d-men and goalies that have high ceilings. |

I've been saying this for a long time. The leafs don't have a true #1 defensemen. They need to make a big move this offseason. |

be VERY afraid of a Habs offer sheet, might have to pay a lower salary to your star then expected |

Aren't you a Sens fan? A Sens fan talking about any other teams 'mess' is about as rich as it (frank)ing gets. 🤣 - joel878
I was a Leaf fan for many years before I became a Sens fan. Not unlike many folks in Eastern Ontario. At one time or another we were all either Leaf or Canadiens fans with a few other teams sprinkled into the mix.

not sure how it works this year, if the Leafs don't win the lottery for the 1st overall, where do they end up drafting? |

So question I posted last week (from a suggestion my friend from the NHL made):
If you win the #1, do you try to trade it to Ottawa for their #3 and #5?
And do you think Ottawa would do it? - Atomic Wedgie
No i don't.
Keep it.
Trade one of marner or willie.
Then if Robertson and laf look to turn out as expected.
Trade the other (marner/willie) the next year. |

I have never once seen anyone post Nylander for Jones. Marner for Jones? Sure...
BTW, Jones is leaving Columbus. Book it... - RogerRoeper
ugh.
Still at this eh. |

I think if the pick goes to Canes, the first Leafs pick will be #40 or something like that |

Gotta overpay a desperate team for even a #2, 31 team league is diluted in talent and teams hoard good d-men. Gotta draft and develop those players. |

I think the Leafs are all over the Devils and Sens to try and get them to take back a top salary in exchange for their giving up one of their three first round picks. |

Wait until around October, when the grim fiscal reality of the COVID crisis dawns on the small-market teams.
Then start phoning around and using whatever financial clout they have. |
