If you watch the replay of the guys face when he dropped the NY ball, his eyes close and reads of someone going “man, I just (frank)ed up.” It truly is possible it’s rigged. - bartsch

I've learned it doesn't matter who wins. I hear every single year it's rigged.
The very fact Edmonton won more than any team in history should tell you it's not rigged. |

Meanwhile if Leafs gave Matthews 2 or 3 years we'd hear about offersheets from the Coyotees soon from non Leaf-fans.
Marner and matthews would be out of here they'd say. - RogerRoeper
So dubas is handing out max contracts now so that people don’t complain on the internet?
Nobody has issues with the Matthews deal.....signing generational talent off their ELC is fine. The 2 “bad deals” are Tavares (who should have never been signed to begin with” and Marner ( who should have been given a bridge deal). If Marner signed a 2-3 year bridge deal, his next contract would be almost exactly what he’s making now, so leafs would have had those extra years of flexibility |

Stop saying 'Max" contracts. They are not even close to max contracts.

Our GM is a mental midget and you’ll see he has a happy following. Grotesque. Another year of maybe making it and prob losing first round they’ll come around. Takes some folks a little longer. - iTOLDu
Yes Forrest, you’re an inspiration for us all. |

Conference finals 2 of the last 4 years, this season still TBD. I’d say that’s pretty good. |

A pity Nylander miserably failed as a C yesterday and was bad whole series again.
If not, NYR might have been lured to trading for him, they really need a #2C now.
That team is looking quite nice with the 2 young goalies Shestyorkin and Georgiev, Fox on D and Kakko, Lafrenniere, Panarin, Kravtsov, Andersson, Kreider and Zibanejad up front.
Lafrenniere must be thrilled - one heck of a team to get drafted by and great city |

better be a finnish goalie or a d-man over 6ft that has a high ceiling but needs work or something
I think the real question is what happens to Marty Marincin and I hope to god the answer is that he gets a 1 year contract to drive the Leafs' players poopty toy dogs to get dog grooming while they play hockey - TheMussel
Leafs trade their 2nd and Johnsson for a mid 1st and draft Braden Schneider. |

They may have missed their opportunity at a cup. We'll see. I think calling them the best team is a little much.

Johnsson might get you a 3rd as a salary dump, if that. |

I said they’re “arguably the best team in the league”. If you don’t think that’s the case then you’re clueless |

Imagine dodging Ottawa, Edmonton, Montreal, New Jersey, Minnesota, Winnipeg, Toronto and Buffalo, and ending up in New York. It must be like Christmas for the kid. |

Based on what?
The leafs have 3 of the 6 highest paid players on the entire league......I’d say that’s “max” |

No that doesn't make it a max contract at all. Mcdavid at 12.5 per is not even close.
There is in fact a real "Max" every year. It's far higher than any Leaf deal. |
