OK you aren't helping.

Just tell me how much Botcoin, or Murrency, it cost to sign Freakarenko? What about Snipeshow?

I’d look at Murray, probably signs a cheaper bridge deal right now.

Or like I said earlier, Andersen for Raanta saves Arizona 3 million in actual dollars. Pretty huge for a potentially half season.

- Santo_44

Maybe I'm reading CapFriendly wrong, but Raanta has a $2M bonus next year and then $2M base salary:

https://www.capfriendly.com/players/antti-raanta

Andersen has a $4M signing bonus and $1M base salary.

So I like your idea of swapping out Andersen, but I don't think Arizona is tempted with only $1M in savings.

Freddie has one year left on his contract.

If there is a next year next year, my suggestion would be to see if Campbell can step up.

It would not be a terrible strategy for the Leafs to grab a couple of goalies in the draft this year, just to keep the cupboards stocked in case Woll and Scott end up being busts or permanently busted.

It's going to be a weird draft this year. Do you take Europeans, in the hope that they have a place to play next year?

I can't imagine the CHL operating.

US Hockey Development Stream may be able to bubble it.

You pick Europeans because

1. Leafs need a Finnish goalie
2. Any d-men you draft get to play against men in europe

Unless they're scouting a sure thing that's going to drop to the 2nd round.

Joel Blomqvist is the highest ranked Finn goalie.

OK, so one skull crushing from Robin Lehner must be 2 botcoins + a fraction of a Snipeshow.

Ah but cant even make it to a playin round with all that Sabre talent.

If only the leafs had the big time scoreres like Skinner the Leafs could have won. Maybe one day the Leafs could get to the Sabres level.

Guys like Greiss, Khudobin, Talbot, Anton Forsberg, Aaron Dell on the open market this year.

Call me crazy but should a grenade hit the team I don't hate finding a guy like that to do a 60/40 split with Campbell for a couple years or something.

It may take a couple years for the team to find their footing should there be dramatic change, and if an emphasis is put on overhauling the blueline and finding more competence defensively on the wings up front... That education should come with not having to rely on your goalie anyways.

There's options in the RFA market to should they want to go there. Matt Murray and Georgiev 🤷‍♂️

I think they have more problems than needing a Lehner to replace Andersen. That just leads to more of the same.

Sign him to a cheap-ish extension this summer?

I just don't see any other goalie out there and I would hate to end up with the combo of "Monster" and Toscola/Reimer again.

Marner - 0 goals 4 assists 24:39 TOI/g
Nylander 2 goals 2 assists 20:13 TOI/g

and you want to trade Nylander. Marner makes over 4 Mill more per season than Nylander.

Nylander can play center and wing. Marner can only play wing. Nylander was going to the dirty areas to score. Marner was on the perimeter skating around without purpose like a water bug.

I’m sure we can sit someone else in front of the net on the PP or 6 on 5.

A little perspective on the possibility of running a full NHL season next year, outside a bubble:

The Cardinals and Pirates three-game series set to start Monday at Busch Stadium has been postponed, a source confirmed. One reason for the complete series being postponed is the the Cardinals have received word Sunday of an additional positive since the three new positives Friday, two sources with knowledge confirmed.

. . . . .

That assures the Cardinals of 13 consecutive postponed games.

That will put at least two weeks between them and their most recent game, and the goal is to add days between the team and its most recent positive test. The Cardinals had spent six days in quarantine last week, and two days after leaving Milwaukee they had new positive tests. This has caused enough alarm that the team and Major League Baseball are exploring the number of days the Cardinals must remove themselves from the schedule.

The likelihood of Monday's Pirates game being postponed was clear over the weekend. The postponement of the complete series was first reported by ESPN.

The postponement now leaves the Cardinals 46 days remaining on their schedule with 55 games to play. The Cardinals' next scheduled game is a doubleheader in Detroit on Thursday, however there's some question whether the team should be asked to return from a two-week hiatus with limited workouts to immediately travel and play a doubleheader. Cardinals opening day starter Jack Flaherty has not thrown an inning of competition since July 24, and by Thursday every pitcher on the staff will have gone two weeks without a pitch against an opponent.
