So we either get 1st overall or we don’t draft in the 1st round.

Tonight will be fun

Tried back reading this thread and the last....oooofff!!!

The trolls have arrived.

Here's my two cents. This team has been out of sync all year, Zamboni Gate, coaching change, not showing up for quite a few games...blah, blah.

Getting rid of Andersen, is probably not the right move. Getting better D in front of him first, is worth a look. Also, he's Matthew's best bud, I would be concerned lose one, lose the other.

Since Freddy's value is down...and I know he let in a poope goal but the team got NONE...extend him cheap right now and use him and Campbell a little more balanced over the season. Let him work harder for starts.

THERE IS NO OTHER GOALIE AVAILABLE. We all remember our really bad goalie years. Let's not go back.

Look at the forward group. Who floats? Who shies away from contact and getting in the dirty areas? Who is a no show when things are on the line?

Lose all of those player, or some of them, to fix the D.

Nylander for D. Savard type deal.

Or, keep Nylander and if you really want to shake up the team, Marner goes for a legit #1RD + harder working winger who won't get you as many points but will hit the corners and net front...ie: Tchachuk type.

Try:

Hyman, Matthews, Nylander or Marner (finesse line)
Robertson, Tavares, Tchachuk type (kinda a finesse line with some heavy play)
Micheyev, Kerfoot, Kapanen (All of these guys work hard and don't flinch)
Clifford, Spezza, Less skilled Tchachuk type

Reilly, Savard
Muzzin, Manson
Sandin, Holl

Andersen
Campbell

IMO, a line up with a few hard working, scrappy, HEAVY playing players will get you a fu3k of a lot farther than a line up filled with soft, skilled, finesse players.

Not bagging on talented players but every line up needs Hymans, Tchachuks/Wilsons....the guys that were never too talented but made up for it with hard work. You can't teach that trait to skilled guys who have been the best at every level. It's a totally different mentality and can't be taught.

Those hard workers show up because it's their nature, not because they do some push ups before the game and sniff the salts. It's who they are.

WE DON'T HAVE ANY OF THOSE.

Well thats a change, I almost always hear players have only ever dreams of playing for the Sabres. Refreshing change.

We knew Ceci was going to fail. It was a short term pain thingy to get rid of Zaitsev.

Barrie is the puzzling one. I'll confess I didn't watch a single minute of him with Colorado, but from everything I've read, shouldn't he have thrived under Toronto's "system?"

Yeah, I put "system" in quotes.

- Atomic Wedgie

He was pretty arrogant when he came over. Before taking a shift he was blathering about the 8 million contract he was going to get because of playing on the Leafs.

Leafs lack character. Barrie was another one.

I think freddy is fine and good enough to run with, but unless there is one of the big contracts going (not convinced it happens yet), in net is where you can shave a few mil off.

Trade andersen 5mil and go with Campbell and someone say for 2 mil
use the 3 savings for D

No no no...

What you always hear are players who want to live in beautiful downtown Buffalo, not necessarily playing for the Sabres.

And I completely agree if you’re talking about widgets where you can move $x from one place to another. It’s got to be a pretty (frank)ed trade market right now and to anything significant you better be sure if what’s coming back.

Let me just hop on nhl20 I'll have this figured out for you in about 15 minutes.

The only thing that makes Freddy OK is that there is really no other option out there. Lehner, I guess, but I wonder how well he would stand up mentally in the fishbowl here. They don't have anything overly exciting in the system.

I wish someone would post a conversion table for Murrency.

Like how much Murrency does it take to buy a treasure trove, or even one premium piece?

I’d look at Murray, probably signs a cheaper bridge deal right now.

Or like I said earlier, Andersen for Raanta saves Arizona 3 million in actual dollars. Pretty huge for a potentially half season.

Freddie has one year left on his contract.

If there is a next year next year, my suggestion would be to see if Campbell can step up.

Andersen as a UFA next summer is a big problem and needs to be taken into consideration first and foremost.

His value more than likely goes down from game 1 of next season on (that's a personal opinion, I think he's worth more with a year left than he would be as a rental).

He’s only owed 1 million this season after his SB.

That’s big.

WHat is it with you people?

Someone doesn't agree with your bullpoop and you say the person should leave. Maybe you should leave.

I'm thinking of how the team can improve and female genitalias like you are trying to drive people away.

Whats your solution for the team to win? what? Do you propose anything or just throw poop around in here trying to drive people out.?

- MisterBrown

"You people"?

Oh its on.

oh man, iv done a 180 on Torts...he has really changed up his image..used to see him as a hot head ...jerk face

hard not to like him

He's Aces.. not a fake bone in his body.. He's as real as it gets..

When we got Milano he couldn't have been more complimentary of Torts. Said you know exactly where you stand with him all the time.. Gets upset but never holds grudges. Tells you what he expects and what happens when you don't give it.

I wanted him so bad as Ducks coach.. but no I got the Carlyle agains..
