Sorry I didn't catch that detail. But appreciate you sharing that info. Also if teams are tied at the end of the 3rd period is it the normal ot played or is it like the regular season with a short or then a shootout ?

Does anyone know if the Blackhawks store was destroyed last night? I was going to get a Slater Koekkoek sweater for Elbows.

I'm not too confidant that whatever you purchase in person will remain in your possession after you leave the mag mile area. Apparently those looting would have this alibi if they went before a judge: it is my right to steal because I am mad about police brutality..

Lot of people whom are not going to follow the law unless you force them too. And if you push back to hard, they cry foul. So perhaps stores are going to eventually have unpenetrable facades. See in this country we have people who misbehave and they don't care.

Caught the 1st period of the Edmonton radio broadcast on Sirius Xm on the way to Louisville on Friday. Interesting perspective.

They LOVE Dach. Couldn't have been more complimentary. Said he had played the 2 top EDM centers to a stalemate, which they did not expect going in.

They also love the Blackhawk 4th line, and their defensive prowess with the ability to drive some positive possession.

They thought Strome and Nylander did nothing. A few comparisons between what Dach and Strome were accomplishing.

They blasted the EDM defensemen screw ups on both Blackhawk 1st period goals, and said it's been an ongoing problem for the last few years.

Yes that's normally how the playoffs go but with using 1 stadium per conference and playing multiple games in that stadium per day I noticed it was different in the play in games just wondering if due to the fact they have multiple games going per day if they changed that rule.

I know alot of people think vegas is a better match for Chicago, I think colorado would have been a easier match . Vegas looked really good and they have 2 great goalies and 4 solid lines .
- Taylorst1

MAF was the worst goalie in the NHL during the round-robin, for xGA. CC was slightly above average and in the middle of the pack.

I just don't think when the NHL devised this second phase lottery plan, they thought that minute chance of the first overall dropping out of the top eight was going to really happen.
they though the true have nots would get the better three top players and if a "few" of the true Cup qualifiers lost and slipped into the bottom 15, they would be picking based on their shortened season %s and were getting nice consolation prizes at slots 12-15...

Too me, it would have been easy to just let the non play-in team get those top three and left it at that, but I truly think, based on all the early reporting my Canada' insider hockey scribes, kept sayingvteh chances of the first overall slipping to play in was possible but so highly unlikely.

Now you created a situation where you are giving one fairly midland, decent team a ugift based on three losses.
Sonthe folks for that team will be over the moon, but the rest of the playin losers and winner sorta got short sheeted, right?

hawks vs knights...11:30 PM EST....WTF is that...
- bogiedoc

If it's 9:30 PM in Chicago, it'll be 10:30 EDT. We're currently on daylight saving time, so it's 10:30 PM EDT not 11:30 EST.

He made most of those points playing with Kane and Debrincat. How many will he score playing with Caggiula and Nylander (or similar skill level players) on the 3rd line playing less minutes.

So the question then is.....
Do the Hawks pay him $3 mil or $4 mil to be their 3rd line center and insurance against injury. OR. Do they offer him $2.1 mil and wait to see if someone offers him more. If someone offers more the Hawks can match or let him go and take a 2nd round pick as compensation. I would do the latter.

If someone was crazy enough to offer him more than $4.2 mil the Hawks would get a 1st and a 3rd round pick. That is a no brainer and not going to happen.

- -Doh-

The question also is:

What is the going rate for a player who doesn’t drive play (or scoring) but can take advantage of favorable conditions /line mates (which not every skater can)? As an RFA?

In a stagnant cap situation?

Well just like you here is what I have to say like it or not , it's all based on facts not what the media is spoon feeding everyone to push their political agenda.

In no way does suspending thempayroll tax affect your social security benefits. Period if you hadn't realized social security was already going insolvent because both parties like to spend and never cut.

The pandemic you obviously don't understand how our system of government works because if you did then you do know that we have 50 states remember who shut down the country those governors not the president and his job is to supply each state with its needs and to come up with a vaccine, so a pandemic that no doctor has gotten it right is to blame.

If you want a nanny state and bankruptcy then let's keep paying people to stay at home, it's no feasible.

I enjoy our talks but please do your homework and be honest with everything. Also if you believe the polls I've got a bridge to sell you.

- Taylorst1

I don't disagree at all with the above. But I am not going to discuss it farther in a hocky blog. And yes you are more knowledgeable than I am about the facts. I hope whomever is elected can stop the econmy from its direction which is toward spinning out of control.. i don't believe the polls necessarily but I do see less and less support for.....oh yes I am not discussing politics.

He still has a couple of cups correct. And vegas won all 3 of its games. Vegas is a deeper team than Colorado and rolled 4 lines . And let's not forget lehner is a great goalie with a very good team .

I still think colorado even though it's a fast team it's still very young and not as experienced. Kadri has a history of taking bad penalties.

I really don't have a gut feel for this series, mainly because I don't know which Hawks team will show up. Unlike Vegas, the Hawks have not been consistent in execution and effort and the short series win over a very flawed team does not allay those fears.

But even if the Hawks' effort and execution is very good against Vegas - it may not be enough to win the series because Vegas is a very good team. The Hawks have very little room for error if they hope to beat Vegas.

But, they do have to actually play the games so the Hawks have a chance. In any case, the good news is they DO actually have to play the games so we'll get at least 4 more games to evaluate how our young players do in a pressure environment against aa quality team. That was the hope going into this tournament and it needs to be kept in the forefront of our thinking - this isn't about winning the Cup this year - it's about getting the young players better prepared to compete for the Cup in the years ahead.

He already has the full Smith set. They hang in the Elbows Cave, next to his set of Peter Regin sweaters.

Strome, Nylander, Dcat, and Caggiula are going to have to show up and play solid 2 way games and also put up some points for the Hawks to have a good change at advancing.

That or the Kane and Toews lines are just going to have to go off... hard to do over a 7 games series.

So, are you implying that MAF is better than Crow right now? He played in one game and let in four goals on 17 shots. I didn't seen the game, but that isn't very good at all. Crow started slow, but improved as the series went along. His 3rd period in game 4 was very impressive. The Hawks won three out of their four games. Vegas won all three. I'm not even saying that Crow was "good" in the series, but he is no worse than what the Hawks will be playing against.

Stop this nonsense about Lehner being better than Crow this year. You were talking down to people about being sure to check the stats before making an argument about the goalies in the last blog. Well:

Crow SV% = 0.917, GAA = 2.77, Goal support = 2.56/gm

Lehner SV% = 0.918, GAA = 3.01, Goal support = 3.26/gm

Behind the same exact team. They played about the same, and you could argue that Lehner was worse.

So what should Stan do? What amount should he offer? At what amount should he take the compensatory pick(s)?

Offer $2 x 3 - settle for $3 x 2.

Kubalik is more of a wild card. I have no idea where he’ll wind up.
