OTT and NJ each with 3 picks in the 1st round this year.

Most likely a middle of the pack , 1st rd pick for the Hawks. I'll guess they'll go with the best player available on their charts

Hey Wiz, what's your report on this kid? Kaiden Guhle. Seems almost Murphy-like from what I've read.

You've got the action genre covered.

How about British actors:
Alec Guiness, Peter O'Toole, Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Peter Sellers, Richard Burton, Michael Caine, Lawrence Olivier

The white Sox officially suck again

No but seriously gotta be patient and lower the expectations. Average team as is. Next season and beyond I expect gradual improvement towards contending.

I thought the dreaded "wait til next year" was reserved for the North side.

I guess 1 WS in 115 years will take that monkey off your back

Idk...there's a pretty good new(er) crop of British actors including Daniel Day Lewis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, Idris Elba...

Don't know if you've seen "Knive's Out" but Daniel Craig is great in that and in "The Gentleman", Hugh Grant gives a very un-Hugh Grant like performance. Great performance and both really good movies.

Grant gives an excellent un-Grant-like performance in “A Very English Scandall”, about the Jeremy Thorpe scandal in the 60s.

You know, since actors and Hollywood for that matter are all political, let's stop the discussion of actors. They are all worthless.

Definitely implied. I remember a friend in college once remarking that Sly had the dramatic range of a Daisy air rifle. On that list, he might actually be the best of the bunch.

GAME DAY, everyone!

How are you feeling?

Do the Hawks have a shot?

Will Robin Lehner get the start?

Will Kirby Dach continue to be awesome?

Will Ryan Reaves attempt to kill someone?

Steve McQueen, Kirk Douglas, Gregory Peck, Burt Lancaster have to be in there somewhere.

Steve McQueen was a movie star....not a great actor. (Commenting like this as a fan of his.)

Attempting to take the moral high ground by saying "let's keep this to hockey and keep the politicians out of it" after you called his statements "b.s." is pathetically hypocritical. Practice what you claim to preach.

A little constipated today
Nope. Knights are too steady across all 4 lines
Of course. Bettman wants the drama
Possibly. When not on the lookout for Reeves
Reeves will be looking to punish Dach and Boqvist every chance he gets

Calling someone's political opinion "b.s." is, in fact, making a political statement - is it not? You could have made the PSA without injecting your political opinion.

The thing about gut feelings is they don't need rationale - just a rumbling in the tummy, so to speak. My gut feeling is the Hawks play exceptionally well and pull off the upset in 6 games, maybe 7.

Friggin wonderful

As is always the case in NHL hockey - yes!

Yes, but he won’t play all the games.

Yes, and he will take an extra step this series.

Yes, but it won’t be on the ice. It will be during lunch when someone tells him he can only have one cup of jello.

hawks mentally should be loose and ready to go...every one has the brooms out to send them out of the bubble...

the lehner storyline could be distraction for both...

yeah reaves will be his typical asshat...

need alot more from everyone if the hawks are to compete...

pacerety back is a big boost for vegas...he has found a home there..

Do the Hawks have a shot? I don't think the Hawks have any chance of winning the series. They could win a game or two. But I think most will be competitive games, not whitewashes. It will be a way to measure how far or how near they are to reentering the upper levels of the league. It will also give them an opportunity to see who rises and who shrinks on their roster.

Will Robin Lehner get the start? I think MAF gets the start in game one. But we will see Lehner. Vegas is confident that they will roll by the hawks and want to keep both goalies fresh and get them both some work.

Will Kirby Dach continue to be awesome? Yes, individually. The question is whether being awesome means scoring goals 5v5 with Kane and ADB. I am not so sure about that.

Will Ryan Reaves attempt to kill someone? Yes. Murphy is the only player on the Hawks roster that has the physical requirements and demeanor/attitude to respond. I hope he does. Other players like Caggiula, Carpenter, Keith, K4, Maatta need to give a hit when the opportunity arises (using discretion).

It will be interesting to evaluate Boqvist (looked a little shaky against Edm), Nylander, Strome (RFA), K4 (RFA).

Also this might be a statement for Crow. What is his next contract going to be? If he plays lights out it could be pretty close to what he is currently making for two years. If he is so so (like against Edm) it could be much less and for 1 year.

Yep, that is his MO. Go after the smallest players and the youngest players. In addition to Dach and Boqvist, Kane, Keith, and ADB better have their head on a swivel.

1) Which Blackhawks line is best equipped to go against the Reeves line?
2) How many different wings will play with Strome?
3) Will Subban get in a game?

- Chunk

None hawks don't have the big mobile physical players to combat that line defense to that Reeves line imo will be the x factor in this series.

Hawks need to defend well as a team and when they get the puck, go hard, go to the net and try to draw some penalties. The Vegas PK isn't great and if the Hawks can get on the PP and score a bit, then Vegas will have to back off and give us some space. The pressure will be on the 3rd and 4th lines to bring a bit more because I think our top 2 lines can match/beat their top 2 lines. The other question going in will be will our D continue to step up and contribute? I hope we get a fun series with some close games no matter what happens.
