Fox looks like he’s going to be a good player though. Don’t they have K’Andre Miller too? - Ftown19125
Yep.
Their offense is pretty well cemented outside of some role players. Their goalie sure looks set for a long time. They can just focus on defense and fine tuning, and they’ll be trouble sooner than later.
The Penguins were on their way out. The Flyers, Rangers, and Canes will be tough for some time in the Metro. |

I am not a ghost fan. But if he plays the way he did last game yes. There’s only two teams I see Haag starting and that’s Washington and Boston. Just due to size and hitting. - Peter Richards
If Gostisbehere plays like that every game no need to play Haag. No need for the size and hitting.

Rags defense sucks so I’m not worried. I’m glad the pick didn’t go to the Leafs as they’d be able to fix their team by trading that pick. And I’m glad the pick didn’t go to the Pens because (frank) the Pens. - hereticpride
Rangers are building a quality team that just got another top chip. I see a long inter division rivalry forming. |

Could Rangers use a center more? Already have Kakko and Panarin at wing for foreseeable future. - arichardson22
Yes, they needed a center more. Mika had one great year but he plays more like a winger than a center. |

Maybe they'll pass on the top rated player, huh?

Isles have a good team too. And with Sorokin and Trotz, can’t rule them out anytime soon.

Leafs wouldn’t trade the pick. They’d likely move forward depth for defense and keep the young player they drafted |

True. It would probably cost them Marner to land a top D man. I’m not sure JT would be easy to move to most teams. |

Teams are very reluctant to give up top young elite defenseman. It happens but it's rare. Really have to draft them.

Trust me. I know after watching Homer trying to get one. I tried to tell the Leafs thread this and they seem to think they can get one for Nylander+ lol |

Isn't lafrenierre a wing ? Rangers may decide they need center more and pick byfield cause you know size. And that would be dumb. So here's hoping. |

Only time I've ever seen this successfully pulled off was when columbus got Seth Jones. |

I don’t think the Leafs would be looking to move the number one pick if they got it or their Captain. I would argue John Tavares was the only player who brought it every series, even ahead of Matthews.
I think Nylander really is the odd man out. |

They’ll overpay for a player on their way out of their prime. It’s the Rangers way. |

Yeah, if I was them I’d be trying to move him. I don’t think they’re gonna be happy with the return tho. |

They’re not dealing from a position of strength, in that everyone knows of their troubles so they’ll have to overpay to get what they want. |

I read one guy think they could get Phil Myers from us for Kapanen.
I'd like Kapanen as a role player, but he can barely make their 3rd line, and they want a more than capable young second-pairing defenseman for him.
Others over there liked the idea, but I didn't respond. He had a whole lotta crazy fixes to all of a sudden fix everything and giving up little |

so much for that. i had to respond.
it would be cool to have Kapanen, and at one time I did want him here, but I like our Fs, and we have plenty of guys who fill that role who cost nothing that don't require protecting when Seattle poaches somebody
Myers is becoming a solid, young 2nd pairing defenseman, and a wing bumped around in the middle 6 isn't gonna cut it, no matter how much we liked his pop |

I like Kapanen as a middle-6 winger who could play in all manpower situations. I really do, and I'd love him on the Flyers. But if you want a young top-4 dman, it's gonna cost more than a middle-6 winger. |

Here's hoping that Alexis Lafrenière is the best Patrick Daigle since Patrik Stefan.
Edit: Was trying to think of former players similar to Patrik Stefan to check stats against. The first player that came to mind was Mark Bell and, oddly enough, their stats are eerily almost identical (Bell more of a goal scorer) |
