I think it will be a physical series. - VanHockeyGuy
I don't think it will be. They don't have a big history . I could be wrong .
I know they won the cup last year but they were also in last place at Jan 1 the same year. I think Canucks will survive this series and it will be more of Blues losing it than Canucks winning it. I just haven't seen the Blues play that well.

If there is an advantage I don't think it goes beyond game 1. Cup winners last year, they know how to turn it on when needed. - NorthNuck
Seven game series are tough and often a battle of attrition. Those guys know what it takes. We're just looking to learn. I agree with you that the momentum prior to the series starting doesn't mean much.

Canucks didn't have a history with Minny and that was pretty damn physical.
STL plays heavy, I'm sure they'll bring that to their game. The Canucks just came out of a similar series, so it's positive that have that experience – as well as the fact they didn't stand down from it and added their own physicality which had been sorely missing

I didn't think Canucks Minny was that physical other than a few shifts. Calgary Jets was physical IMO.
I am probably wrong no big deal. I just don't think the Blues are as dangerous as they were last year. I think it will be a high scoring series.
IMO Vegas and Flyers are the teams to beat not the Blues.

Anything's a bonus from here on in. I'd be happy to be wrong but they've got their hands full.
Sure, the youth, adrenaline, a few lucky bounces. The team already has exceeded my expectations this year, anything from now on is a bonus imo. They've tasted the Kool Aid. - VanHockeyGuy

We must not have been watching the same series.
Even the commentators who were there for every western matchup said Van/Min was the greasiest grittiest series of the play in. Nucks had to fight hard to move guys out of the way so they could get scoring chances. The game they lost they got bullied, but they figured it out after that.
Not to mention it's excellent that they're getting first time playoff experience so early. Would hate to be wasting the younger years of our stars like the Leafs or Oilers - NorthNuck[/quote]

Agreed. St. Louis has lots of big players who can throw their weight around. - Marwood
With our young stars, buzzing around like they do. STL will go fck that and take the body. On the flip side at least we have players now who will retaliate, so they'll need to keep the hits clean and QH & EP need to keep their heads up.

it would be a 20 game suspension these days, but the satisfaction level was off the charts.

Petey and Huggy can skate out of most hits and Petey is starting to throw them. Virtanen & Mackewan should be hammering guys as should Horvat. I really liked Sutters big balls and his and Millers willingness to get into or start scrums. Win or lose it should continue to be entertaining hockey.
