Be nice to see the Canucks win a game or 2 against the defending champs.
Keep playing as a team, drive to the net, forwards help out defensively, and Marky plays well and you never know, maybe they could pull it off.
Go Canucks.

Hearing that FLA will officially announce this morning that it is not renewing GM Dale Tallon’s contract. The Panthers are not expected to name a successor, instead conducting an external GM search.

I saw yesterday Duffy saying goodnight to Bobby Margarita. He did say though that it was a “soft” retirement, that he would still be around for the important things, just no more daily analysis etc.

On a lighter note, came across this this morning

Not surprising. Save some money while there is uncertainty, but at what point do you think you begin to hurt your franchise not having someone in charge?

Interesting how tight the ages are. I thought the Flyers were way older than the Canucks but they’re virtually the same age.

He was hired ten years ago, they’ve done nothing under him. Time to move on.

I think it came down to Tallon having a terrible record. I wonder if this is going to open a door for someone like Luongo (Not the GM but getting into an office position)

Remember that Beagle/Loui/Edler drag down the average a bit.

There was a question in my post, which you conveniently ignored, to add what, that he’s expired?

I don’t think it’ll hurt the franchise not having anyone in charge for the next few months. By the time the draft comes I’m assuming they’ll have a GM in place.

Every team has those veteran players, the age gap averages are just tighter than I expected.

The Canucks look good with the age average. The only ones that are getting to the end are Edler ( I still think he has 2 more years after this) and Loui who unfortunately still has two more years after this.

It'd be interesting to see the average age of the top 6 forwards and top 4 D of each team are. The depth is usually older for teams.

Yes they do, very young core group. Some of the teams I had in my mind, like Philadelphia, as veteran teams actually have a lot of young players. But you’re right in that the Canucks young guns are the core.

Not to mention it's excellent that they're getting first time playoff experience so early. Would hate to be wasting the younger years of our stars like the Leafs or Oilers

I think he will sign another two year deal at a cheaper rate at 3 mil. He is getting older but still a workhorse.

That's what I was thinking too.

As you pointed out, I think a better comparison of teams would be to look at the age of the "core."

Not that any of us really need an excuse to gripe about the D but the ages really jump out when looked at in comparison to the stars of the team.
