Should be fun series best of luck to all.

Not happy how the boys have played overall but Berube made it pretty clear how he felt about round robin games before the first puck dropped.

- Gerk

Here's to a good series!

Weird to go into a playoff matchup with so little animosity, but I expect it to be a physical series.

How has the Blues goaltending for the round robin been?

Can now confirm — the Canucks are staying put.

They'll remain at the Sutton Place for Round 1.

- Carol Schram

I think this is a great idea. They clearly are comfortable there.
Carol, if they are so lucky to advance from the next round do they have to move to the "nicer" digs??

Wow, a life filled with regrests and missed opportunities oozes from this comment haha even playoffs can't cheer up the "smartest guy in the room crowd".

D needs to keep getting better (much better) but beginning structure of the team is built around solid goltending and a forward group (plus QH) that can win in multiple ways and has gamers (i.e. last guy in the gym types)...built for playoff style hockey

The Beagles of the group can add character now but obviously need to be replaced by younger/faster options over the next three years. If management can adequately complete that transition, the team will be in good shape with QH, EP40, Bo and JT driving the bus.

This team was on a course to miss the playoffs again before covid. They made the playoffs because of a fortunate draw in a qualifying tourney.

Goaltending is still a question. Marky has just come into his own after years of struggling to be a NHL regular. I don’t think anyone here would open the vault to keep him long term.

A defence that needs to get much better (as you mentioned above) is not built for the playoffs. Their #1 d-man is a first year rookie that’s played better than anyone expected and TBH has benefited greatly from the covid break. He looked exhausted back in February.

The coach is still tinkering with line combos to find the right mix. Many players don’t have playoff experience and the veterans that do have experience have not brought home the ultimate prize (don’t point at Beagle because he got a hug from Ovi).

This team is still building to be consistent in the regular season let alone in the playoffs. Give them time to grow and evolve and they will get there but to say that JB has built a playoff contender is premature in my opinion.

One of my fondest Canuck playoff memories was when they beat the Blues in seven games back in 2003. The Blues got the flu bug and the Canucks were able to come back after being down 3-1 in the series to win game 7. Saw it live and will never forget it.

Really you've said the bold before and its a narrative that doesn't hold water.

Green didn't tinker with lines at all in this series even during the game. No blender deployments. Only line changes made were due to injury. That's another narrative that is old and wrong.

What's premature is writing off a team that is proving the doubters wrong.

They’ve played five games since March. That’s what you are calling old and wrong?

In March, Marky was injured and the defence was in shambles. They were 1-4 in their last 5 games before the break. It was not looking good. No narrative. Just truth.

They’re not a contending team by any means, lots of holes in their game, but I love the unexpected progress this year. Markstrom saved their bacon more times than not this year but you can see the progress.

More time to heal off rough series is good. May just be enough for TT to draw in too.

3-0 in a pivotal game five? No excuse for a “high powered” offence like that.

Leafs are a team that’s built for the draft.
