Could be worse could be better, so just about right.

I'd like to have seen a small market team get him to be honest, but considering Pitts and Toronto had the options to get him I wont complain.

It’s now official, the leafs gave up the 13th overall pick to get rid of Marleau. That team is (frank)ed.

I love it too, but I think a lot of teams would still kill to be in their boat right now.

They have the assets (likely Nylander) to address this weakness.

never has a fan base (a lot of them anyways) deserved what they're getting more than some of those ass clowns deserve what they're going through right now.

Seth Jarvis is now as high as 12 on some draft lists. Would be a great steal if the Sens could get him. Had an explosive run after Christmas.

I still have a weird feeling LA is going to take Stutzle at #2.

I'd be very happy with Ottawa grabbing
#3. Stutzle or Byfield
#5. Drysdale

I still think we should try to put a package together and trade for Detroits #4 and pick up Rossi as well

i think it would be a mistake to take Drysdale at 5.....Ottawa took RHDs with their last 2 1st rd picks, and there are still good ones available later in teh 1st or in teh 2nd rd.......the forwards at the top of this draft are elite, and it will be a failure IMO if ottawa doesn't come away from this draft with 2 of them.

It appears to be >50 pages of juvenile in-fighting, and semi-desperate attempts to reassure themselves that they're still a very big and rich NHL market. Whatever... the Leafs deserve every bit of criticism that they're receiving right now. Players that hold their team over the barrel for $11M/yr have to own their shortcomings, and right now there's plenty to go around. It might also be a thought to consider a new team policy regarding players having the facial hair of an underage sex predator.

It does seem like the right opportunity to really bolster the scoring lines. Drysdale is an excellent offensive d-man, and they certainly would be a better team with him on the roster... but I look at teams like the Leafs and Oilers as a scarecrow of what happens when you overload your high-end talent with any one position or type of player. Chabot, Brannstrom, Thomson, Bernard-Docker, and Wolanin should be able to provide more than enough puck-movement and PP firepower... the actual blue line gap is defensive awareness and physical presence. In many ways, this validates the view that if they pick a d-man at #5 it could be Sanderson, not Drysdale.

Very good point. I haven't been paying attention to Jarvis but seeing his numbers and then hearing your point on his post X-mas play, I def want to get him. As amazing as this draft is, there aren't multiple top line centers available. Could he be a top line center? Certainly Logan Brown & Josh Norris have to prove they can become that, otherwise they'll join Colin White as solid 2/3 guys only

Me too. I really hope Stutzle comes to Ottawa but then again Byfield is basically a year young then anyone else. If he hits his stride he could prove to have a better career (accomplishments, impact, etc) than Laf

I understand what your saying. Lassi Thomson and Bernard Docker seem like solid bets to play as top 4D, but the reality is that their not sure bets. Drysdale is the best D-man coming into the draft. He is also has the cool mentality that kind of reminds of Wade Redden. Before the cup run in 2007, Wade Redden was an absolute stellar D-man for the Sens. The fact that he's a right shot, having him with Chabot could help the Sens have a D combo not seen since Chara-Redden. That said, if Byfield gets selected at 3, then it could make the Sens want to draft a winger like Holtz or Raymond. I wouldn't be disappointed with Drysdale, Raymond or even Rossi (although I hope it's one of the sweeds or Jamie)

Imagine if the Sens took 2D - Sanderson and Drysdale

Chabot - Bernard Docker
Sanderson - Drysdale
Brannstrom - Thomson

Pronman heard that we gonna pick Raymond but gonna be difficult to pass on Drysdale. Heard because the last two years we draft rd, this year we draft forward with the top pick

Also said at 3 we gonna take who the Kings don’t pick between Byfield and Stutzle. But heard Kings take Stutzle

Quintin Byfield
45 games played, 32 goals, 82 points
0.711 goals per game, 1.822 points per game

Major key*, Byfield did this as a 17 year old while Laf was 18 the entire year

Alexis Lafreniere
52 games played, 35 goals, 112 points
0.673 goals per game, 2.153 points per game

(1.721 points / game as a 17 year old)

Byfield has produced at a better place than Laf did as a 17 year old

Who do they pick if they draft a D at #5. Certainly not an undersized defenseman like Drysdale. Are u watching the playoffs.

The Red Wings biggest need is on defense so if they go this route I hope they pick the smallish Drysdale. Sanderson is a beast defensively and near impossible to skate around. He wowed the scouts in his last 2 US tournaments with his newfound offensive flair. Sanderson also has the NHL pedigree with his father Geoff having played over 1000 games. I would be ecstatic if the Senators get him at number 5.

Is that their biggest need? They took a RHD last season.

I still think they take Rossi r Perfetti to address their C need.
