I'm curious, does anyone remember what were the odds of the habs making the playoffs right before covid happened? - Pat1993
I honestly think it was less than 1% lol |

They have Pittsburgh picking 1st now
Habs with Kaiden Guhle at 16th, definitely the type of prospect they need... now that 1st is off the table of course - obie
I’m really hoping the Jets get to pick first now, would seem fair. |

I'm not too picky, any team from the Western Conference will do... and as ridiculous as it would be, how much would it really hurt the Habs if he ended up in Edmonton? |

Well, it wouldn’t but good grief how many first pick overall can a team have? I’m sick of Edmonton being handed the best players, the Jets would be a nice change especially since the year they were hoping to pick first, they ended up second when the Leafs won the lottery. Not that Laine is crap but it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for him. |

I agree, Wild in 2nd and CBJ if they lose 3rd. Too many teams I'd rather not see end up with him |

I agree that Edmonton shouldn't get it, all I'm saying is I'd rather Edmonton than any Eastern Conference team |

Good point, the Wild could really use him and they haven’t got any really big young name on the roster, that would do nicely! Columbus wouldn’t be bad either given the big names they lost last season. |

But yeah... wasn't disagreeing in any way, Winnipeg seems like a good destination
More importantly, there's a variety of 5 or 6 D in the 16th to 31st spots, depending on which mock draft you're looking at... do you focus on them or still go with BPA at that point? Even if the BPA is a 5'10" LW? |

Columbus wouldn't be bad until the Habs lose a playoff round to them after the 2 hometown kids completely dominate....no thanks! Out West you go little fella! |

Tricky business but I think you need to get the best player available and trade later to fill needs if needed. Actually, considering how many draft picks we’ve got, it would be great if we could move up in the draft a bit, could be possible considering the teams bounced in the qualif round aren’t exactly bad teams...man 2020 is weird lol 14 picks in 7 round is just insane, we need to use some of these as bait in a deep draft. |

I bet Lafrenière is happy landing in Mtl is not a possibility anymore. For all the childhood team chatter we hear, the fact is that Montreal is a high pressure market and quite harsh on French Canadian players, imagine the stress he would have been under. I mean a highly touted prospect always gets pressure, but that would have been something else |

Yea that's a good point too, sacrifice some picks to move up and get the player you really want... I'm expecting Bergy to use some of those picks to acquire a RFA that a team just can't afford to re-sign because of the cap situation, doubt it would be Sergachev and Dunn seems unlikely too but who knows... it's also nice to get an extra round here, the off season won't be long at all, with the draft and free agency right around the corner... although next season starting December 1st is far from a guarantee |

I meant him landing in Columbus and having him and Dubois whip our asses in a playoff round somewhere down the road |

Could be an interesting avenue if he can swing it, would be nice to finally take advantage of the cap space. Yeah I guess a lot depends on the second wave...hopefully it’s not as bad as expected |

Yes, yes he is. And he said this week that Hart reminds him of some guy he used to play with in Mtl...We could be in for quite the goalie battle. |
