I have a feeling of dread that the Rags are going to get him and be a powerhouse in the division for the next 10 years or so.

Yeah, our D would be pretty trashy without Marino. JR lucked out that a scout pounded the table to get him.

Hey, do you know anyone in Philly who could do a welfare check on bruceflyers after he be $2K on the Pens, and then felt so good about it, he bet another $2K on them? I'm worried about him.

I'm going to be a Richard, but anyone here who thinks Sheary has anything to do with this team failing is irrational and I question their hockey knowledge.

Sheary played a part in this team failing. He is garbage. He doesn't score. He doesn't win puck or board battles. He turns the puck over because he is weak. He is not a top 6 player, period. In what world is he a top 6 player? If anyone thinks he is a top 6 player, or played like one in this series, they are irrational and I question their hockey knowledge.

Ok, so he had that one good poke on defense and then drew a penalty along the boards with his speed. He got a penalty shot that he blew. And then he had that one really good pass that led to a goal. What else did he do? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I don't know that I've ever seen a weaker player. He's fast, he's smart, and he's a good passer. That's it. There is NOTHING else to his game. In fact, the rest of his game is a huge negative, which totally wipes out the positive and then some.

yeah, those two assists and six total shots in four games are legendary...as was that unsuccessful penalty shot in the third period of game one, which coulda put them up 3-2, was epic

Thank you.

2 goals in his last 38 playoff games, most of which playing alongside one of the greatest ever in Crosby.

Schultz is as good as gone (not that he did himself any favours for a payday) but how much of his terrible play had to do with JJ? I remember he hasn't been great lately, but he has been injured a lot

In a flat cap world, what is it going to take to move a guy like Bjug at 4.1 coming off injury AND lackluster play? Nevermind trying to find a taker for JJ

- TheGame316

Yeah it's gonna be hard to move the crap out, no doubt.

I would seriously worry about Boudreau stroking out if he had to coach JJ.

Here's my impression of Boudreau coaching JJ:

Here's the buyout for JJ:

2020 / 2021: $1.17M
2021 / 2022: $1.17M
2022 / 2023: $1.92M
2023 / 2024: $917K
2024 / 2025: $917K
2025 / 2026: $917K

Do it.

Maybe Bjug retires due to injury.

I called that EDM series. I was really hoping the Pens had a shot at #1 overall, but now we know who it's going to.

Ok, we'll agree to disagree. Sheary is a garbage hockey player. He's not even good in the regular season anymore. But, whatever.

If anyone knows a scout, have him send us the video isolated for Sheary in this series. It should be an eye-opener for a lot of Sheary defenders here. He is comically bad and ineffective.

sheary is the air conditioning not working on a car that has two flat tires.

does it (frank)ing suck to not have air and make your journey so much worse? is it broken and something that can be fixed and improved upon? Sure.

does it really matter because you still arent leaving the (frank)ing driveway with jack johnson in your wheel well?

Sheary doesn't drag down his linemates. I'll give you he can be frustrating to watch when he doesn't put home golden chances, but he doesn't bring down his linemates.

maybe then he could medically petition for permission to (frank)ing bench him.

agreed. he does not bring them down possession wise. but when youre riding shotgun with the play driving centers, burying chances should be part of the job requirement.

it just becomes the discussion of no you dont technically do negative things, but at what point do we consider your lack of positive conversion a negative in and of itself? and thats a sliding scale thats open for interpretation.

does he have blood on his hands for sending them home? sure, but certainly not more than most on the roster. but is he innocent beyond reproach either? not at all. its allowed to be somewhat grey i think.

Yes, (frank) you do that. You're saving over 2 mill a year when you do. There's better options than JJ for 2 mill... Every other Dman in the NHL is better than him hahah. Hell, even an outside chance PO is ready next seasom on ELC.

The Crosby line had almost no cycle in the zone largely because Sheary can't win a puck or board battle and gets knocked off the puck like a child. He also had a number of turnovers. These things bring down his linemates.

still did more than most of our team. people trying to blame this on him are delusional.

Guentzel missed a lot of opportunities.
Malkin didnt show up.
Dumo was a shade of himself during the first 3 games.
JJ was on the ice for almost every goal against during the first 3 games.
Marleau didnt even look like a Hockey player at all.
Powerplay was awful during the first two games.

he's not great but he at least did something.
