And tanner pearson. And toffoli. And lievo. Oh and motte has been great. But hey, go on don’t let me stop you. He looks like a terrible GM right now and not one that has gotten consistently better with time.

Guys coming to their peak. They will be a contract anchor in 2 years (if retained). The Canucks need to keep building and not going for the championship today. I respect your opinion, however.
- Marwood

Kindly show us your ‘keep building’ lineup without Pearson & Toffoli. Thx in advance

Is that true? I have never heard if Fatty is injured or not and I wondered if OJ was a coaches decision
- CallmeTiny

The options were more , yet he gave it to OJ, he'll excel with better players

Hmm ehlers has no playoff goals and Nylander is about to be eliminated, so OJ and JV look alright playing for the cup🤯

you’re ability to hate even when you are clearly wrong and have been wrong about this team all year is amazing. Looking forward to your analysis on why this team isn’t getting out of round 1!
- neem55

He’s trying to be a visionary but I don’t see any strategy on how he accomplishes it. Lol

Well put. It's been JB's outlook from day 1. And that's where I've diverged from management.
- RealityChecker

Yes Jb said in the very earliest of days he had to fill the age gaps on the team. He never diverged from that statement & got us to where we are today. I guess the real proof is in how we played in the qualifiers & next round will be an even better indicator. He didn’t diverge from his strategy & imo it was a success so far. That was some entertaining & intense hockey we just played.

I get labeled “hater” by some & “fanboy“ by others... Both are beta minded emotional reactions to praise & criticism. Just calling each situation like I see it
- DrChristianTroy

Your post are always even keel & solid. You don’t fly off the handle or seek out blame nor witch hunt scape goats. After all it’s obvious around the league & media the Canucks are regarded very well.

Hughes on Tanev's impact in his development: I don't think you can put a price on it. he does a lot of things in the d-zone that I can't do. Chris is the heart and soul of the team, it's nice to see him get the goal. He's helped me a lot both on and off the ice. #Canucks

Hopefully they sign him to a team friendly deal.

- Pacificgem

Hughes has also helped out on Tanev’s game & allowed him to be a better player. Hughes is confident & humble which are great traits. A true leader.

Winnipeg Jets Ehlers? He had two playoff goals before getting eliminated.

Toronto Maple Leaf Nylander? The leaf/blue jacket series is tied 2-2 and they don’t play until Sunday.

As posted before, OJ developed into a PK specialist on the Comets this season. It and his passing/play making, which was noticeable last night, is what's going carve him a role on this new core Canuck team.
- NuckUp

This is fine with Rathbone possibly being a top 4 LHD given his progress. Sure it’s early but he’s trending nicely.

JTM, Pearson and TT are starting their peak form not down sliding that will take a few years and by then they will have served their purpose.
- NuckUp

That purpose being filling the age gap in the top 6 while prospects develop.

Toffoli is gonna suck ass once he loses a step since he's already slow. And this is coming from someone who's wanted to trade for him for a couple of years now.
- Nucker101

TT is the toughest decision to make for me. We can let him walk but eating the price we paid will be fuel for the whiners. So much will depend on what other moves happen & if JB decides Hoglander & Podkolzin are ready sooner than later. Best option is if all UFA’s & RFA’s are resigned & contracts moved out to do it TT could be a trade asset. A 1 year covid deal is my choice. If longer term being a seller on him or letting Seattle take him is ok with me

Let's slow down in thinking that we can count on them being on the team. If anything, OJ shows just how much of a roller coaster development can be.
- RealityChecker

Bad luck on injuries derailed his development no doubt. He’s young & the team is trending up nicely without him. Benefit is cap cost control. Rather that than UFA plugs on the 3rd pair.

Yeah that's priority can't believe people thought Tanev was expendable for Rafferty. Though I believe JB will force the issue on LE and sign all his top free agents.
- NuckUp

Nobody said Tanev was replaced by Rafferty.

I'd sign him to a 2 year deal, but not longer than that. Highly doubt he would sign something that short.

That may happen in this COVID UFA market. But why say no to 4 years if the price is reasonable?
- NuckUp

Depends on if he likes this team & city.

For a 5th overall pick he’s been a complete bust, much like Virtanen, but as long as they become serviceable NHL players it’s all good. Thankful Brackett took over in 2017
- Pacificgem

I wanted Sergachev or a trade down for McAvoy in OJ’s draft year. Tbh I didn’t know enough about OJ.

On JV it was Ehlers but it wasn’t a horrible loss given JV is cheaper than him. It wasn’t a good pick & again another point in time for a trade down.

I think Podz is going to be a great pick when he gets here next year. Might even make TT irrelevant
- CallmeTiny

This is the likely scenario i can see.

Ehlers scores in game 2 I think, so you are wrong. And if you are wrong on this point, there’s a good chance you’re wrong about a whole lot more...

Yeah sure but for a competitive team, where the Canucks are headed, its good to have TT in the top 6 while Podz learns the NHL game in bottom six. He's going to be a fan favourite like Steamer the way Podz plays for sure.

Chris Faber is the guy I quoted that provided stays that showed BB with BH was an offensive black hole. And boy did I get ridiculed for that. I think he does a good job providing evidence to back up his opinion.
- bloatedmosquito

My problem with Bo & Brock together is there is no playmaker compliment for them.
