Here's the pairings fancy stats through 3 games. The 2nd pairing hasnt been all that hot either, more so lacking in the HDSC%. However, when you start sorting by xGF%, CF% or HDSC% you dont see JJ's name until further down the list haha. Some of the pairings have only been together a few minutes, so cant put much stock in them, even so, JJ is never in the top ones hahah
https://www.naturalstattr...filt=none&fd=&td=&tgp=410
EDIT: Petts and Marino's xGF% is off the charts at 83.98
EDIT 2: should mention I'm looking at 5 on 5 SVA |

Was in regards to the original commenter on how Ruth said he was going to trade the 1st rounder this year regardless of where we ended up. That was obvi a pre Covid - 1st overall possibility comment. - 10inchTerror
Tojo said Rutherford said he’d give it to Minnesota unless it’s the 1st overall. |

Yes, the bar is higher, but Malkin is also a center which comes with more responsibilities. As for Sheary, what does he do off the puck? He's good at filling passing lanes on defense and finding soft spots on offense, but he simply can't win a puck or board battle to save his life. So what happens is that Crosby's line is one-and-done. Crosby's game is made for the cycle. Why Sully gives Crosby the two weakest puck and board battlers on the entire team I'll never know.
Sheary has been ok for what he is, but he's just not a top 6 player. To saddle Crosby with him is an abomination. 2 goals in 37 playoff games and you put him next to one of the best grinders and passers in the game? Ridiculous. That's my beef with Sheary. - Hockey66
Yeah Sheary is what he is. He's not a top 6, but they don't have a 6th one of those and lost a couple other options in Bjugstad and Simon to try. McCann maybe but not right now. Hornqvist might have a short burst left but he's really not anymore. Marleau is cooked. None of the scratches have much offensive upside. It's bad enough people are suggesting Tanev.
I think Sheary has been fine for what he is. At least nowhere near the criticism he's gotten. Agree he's not a top 6, especially for playoff hockey, and he gets dominated on the boards. But if Jake had buried an extra chance or 2 of the 50 good looks he's gotten, we aren't talking about that line as a disappointment.
Truth is the Pens only have 4 ES goals and 3 have come with Crosby and Sheary on the ice, yet Sheary is the most bashed forward on the team. They have other problems. |

To be clear, I thought I heard Rutherford say in an interview the pick will go to Minnesota unless it's #1 overall. I'm not 100% on that. |

This. I said he hasnt looked as strong on the puck. Thorny said he was never strong on it at all, and I agree he never was THAT strong, but still could of went downhill in that regard, and has. He's not as confident with puck and his shooting isnt up to par. This is all kind of expected when you miss as much time as him and with that type of injury. I think he will improve but it might be too late this season before he does. So yeah, the Sheary bashing with nothing being said about Jake is a bit much. |

Everyone bashing Sheary right now have always bashed Sheary. They would have bashed Sheary regardless of if he’s playing like he is now, had buried that penalty shot, or had three goals in the series so far. People just hate the guy. |

I think I need to see the line up before getting excited about the game. If it’s business as usual, the game is going to be a chore. But at least it gives me an excuse to fade off of work in a timely manner this afternoon. My team usually works until 4/4:30, but for whatever reason I always end up having long days on Fridays. Probably because this working from home allows me to procrastinate a ton and then I have to play catch up during the last day of the week. |

i'd say right now we have less than a 10% chance of winning the cup...but lets just pretend that is our odds...would you rather:
a 12% chance to win the cup?
or
a 12% chance to get Lafreniere |

The first two are solid. Third one is meh but has mike Tyson in it for whatever reason lol
Haven’t watched the fourth one yet. I’ve watched the first three in the last few weeks. The first one is easily one of the best Kung fu movies I’ve ever seen. The choreography is awesome. |

Yup. I’ll own up to that. I’m a huge procrastinator and work up against deadlines. If I cracked down on my poop I could probably be done by 1 every day and never work on a Friday haha. |
