Epstein's island? - MattStrat
“Pleasure Island” was the island in Pinocchio and he’s staring in the new one. Weird, isn’t it? |

Yeah but he’s gonna be Gepetto, not the pleasure island guy. |

Very weird hahaha
Think it'll just be Pinocchio's nose getting erect in it? |

The 4th line is the only one I dont want see any tinkering with right now. They're playing solid and reliable...even chipped in offence yesterday. Thats the D pairing I want. Does Sully have the balls in an elimination game? I have my doubts.
For me the forwards should be:
Zucker-Sid-Horny
Jake-Malkin-Rust
Sheary-McCann-Rod (or perhaps Rod at C and McCann and Sheary switched)
Tanev-Blueger-ZAR
Let Patty Marls sit a game...again, does Sully have the balls to do this?... - MattStrat
I like your lineup here! Although I’d swap the 3rd and 4th lines in terms of playing time |

Hahahahah touché. On a side note, Tom Hanks is going to star in a movie about taking little boys to an island. Creepy huh? - j.boyd919
Based on his real life proclivities?! He did move and change citizenship to Greece! |

They did. This is a better team than the last two years IMO. Doesn't matter though because the weakest links are still there and the weakest links are what breaks the solid chain and brings out the stinks.
I didnt like Sully after his choices and strategies last playoffs. Would of been fine with him getting the axe. The playoffs before last I gave him, and the team, the benefit of the doubt because the players had played so much f'n hockey the two years before winning B2B's. This regular season instilled some confidence for me with Sullivan again. He had the team playing a great brand of hockey despite missing a F-load of important regular lineup players in the first half. If he doesn't make changes to the lineup tomorrow, and especially if he doesnt and they lose, I'm going to be disgusted if he's still the coach when the next season starts up....whenever that may be... - MattStrat
I got to agree, how Sully looked at mid-season compared to now is pretty striking. |

I'm pretty optimistic about Friday's game too, especially when it so happens to fall on Sid's birthday. Aside from that I'm hoping that Sully makes some positive changes too. However if there's one thing this team is good at doing, it's getting ourselves in a comfortable lead and then blowing it. - Hodgedog
Speaking of optimism, how (frank)ing nice was that edgework by Tanev, on the 3rd goal. He looked like Sid fighting of the defender and controlling the puck with one hand.
Also, i think its (frank)ing crazy to not have him out there as 6th man at end of game situations. When all we do is drop pass, get trapped, and dump, at least put the fastest guy out there to retrieve the puck. At a minimum, if he doesn't retrieve it, he will punish the d-man who collects it.

The unfortunate truth is that back then everyone was healthy and not rusty. Right now we have a bunch of guys who haven’t played in months coming back from some major injuries. When everyone else is clicking on all cylinders, you can get over the third pairing sucking and bleeding goals or getting goal tending that is just good enough but not actively contributing towards wins. When your best winger and top pairing d man are slowed down from past lower body injuries and your team leaders like Malkin and Letang are still shaking rust off, the other roster issues become way more pronounced. |

I havent been on the boards... not sure if this was discussed.
If the pens lose this series they'll be eligilbe for the draft lottery (12% chance of winning).
But if they don't win the lottery and don't get the 1st overall pick, can they still keep their first round pick? |

Yes we have a lottery protection on the pick. We can still elect to give it to Minnesota, and according to Tojo, Rutherford has insinuated we probably will. (frank)ing dumb if so.

If Rutherford gives it to his buddy Billy Guerin as part of some gentlemen's agreement...dear god.
so let me get this straight, because im an idiot.. we decide before the lottery whether we want to keep the pick or not. lets say we keep it, does that guarantee we'd get a top 8 pick? (i have never watched or paid attention to a draft lottery lol)

If McCann isn’t put on Sid’s wing, that’s probably the change up id make.

Par for the course. That's how they drove Guds out of town over JJ. Not that I think Guds was very good, but he was more effective than JJ when playing his natural side. - Rinosaur
Pretty much what happened to Oleksiak to. He looked good, they played him off-side with Maatta on the 2nd pair and he got all the blame. Nevwr even got a look again at 3rd pair before being traded. He'd be an upgrade on our bottom pair right now. |

A) No. This pick is ours until we decide to give it up. I don't think there's a time table on it. I think we can literally hand it to Minnesota on draft day if we wanted to. We don't have to make a decision before the lottery/
B) There are a lot more than 15 teams in the lottery, not 8, and this secondary lottery is only for the top pick. Since we're the highest seeded team in the play ins, we'd be going into the lottery as the 15th pick, so we'd either have the 1st overall, or the 15th. |

I almost want to throw the next game for a 1st or 15th overall pick. It would definitely help our prospect pool. Plus we don't really look as though we want it bad enough to win this |

Kind of funny.... The only risk in swapping 1) JJ, 2) Murray and 3) Sheary is 1) less goals will be scored against, 2) less bad goals will be allowed and 3) a top line wing will score a goal. I'm taking those risks.
Score a f'n playoff goal Sheary and I'll shut the fuk up. Top line wings score goals when paired with all time great passers.
Zucker, Sid, Rust
Guentz, Malkin, Hornie
Tanev, Bluegs, ZAR
Sheary, McCaan, Rod
Dumo, Letang
Pets, Marino
Rikki, Ruh

Watching yesterday's game was painful. They were up 3-1, and then everything fell apart. JJ and Schultz are goddamn terrible. If Sullivan doesn't bench Johnson tomorrow, the Pens deserve to lose. I'm tired of the stubborn coaching.
F'it. At this point, I'd rather have a chance at the higher draft pick. But knowing JR, he'll trade it away for garbage. |

Realistically if we manage to beat mtl, the chances are hella slim of making it through the next round, so I would like to lose and hope for the chance at Lafreniere. But I just don’t want to lose. And I really don’t like mtl. |

I honestly thought that third goal for us was going to be either the game winner for us or motivator to get the team going. I went absolutely bananas when that went in. But man was I wrong, what total boner killer last night was.
I'm more shocked that I didn't see both Geno AND Sid on the ice on that final frame, unless I was too flustered during that time lol

Well if Sullivan lives or dies by JJ, looks like death. Sullivan is not a team player/coach. He won't do what's good for the team. he obviously doesn't care. |

Yohe was on Madden today. Basically said the most alarming thing he saw last night was the lack of effort after the Habs got the go-ahead goal. I completely agree. I kept expecting a push and never saw it. Really, really unusual to not see any push from an experienced team. |

It’s hard to have a push when you start jj and Shultz on the offensive side neutering you’re top lines. I’m still astounded at the lack of playing Sid and geno together at any point in a game, whether it’s late and down by a goal or not. There are lots of tv timeouts they know happen and after pks when they are both fresh. I can’t wait for a new coach/gm.
And if we got the 1st overall and Ruth still trader away to minni, I would imagine ownership would do away with him. |
