Bjugstad is a pretty good player when healthy. Key words... When healthy. When word came out that he was done for the season, I knew it was a bigger deal than people were thinking. Simon too. Our 3rd line needs to chip in or we're toast.

I've talked about keeping Murray for a year and letting him walk as a way to save salary for Marino (and Blueger/ZAR) while getting something useful for it next year.

Same actually applies for Bjugstad, though I expect nobody including myself wanting to keep him. Still, he'd give them some options and depth at 3C and to 1RW if he actually stayed healthy, 2 positions that have concerns. Too bad we didn't really see him this year.

Yeah, I'm not really advocating for it though I'd consider it more than most. I would like to have an expiring salary though because if they use that space on a long-term deal instead and can't move Hornqvist to the Kracken they're kind of screwed on ways to dump enough salary for their RFAs.
