Korpisalo already looked very very solid in the exhibition game vs Boston.
I hadn't seen him play that much before - but the three games I've seen, he has impressed me, in particular his rebound control.
Freddy has been really really good as well except for that 1 shot in game 1. - MaximusAurelius
It's only been 2 games, but Fred has been great. I really hope he continues to play this well.. If the Leafs can just play every game like they played game 2, that would be great. |

whatever you say.
just a friendly recommendation though - if we get the choice between getting the oxford/astrazeneca covid vaccine, or wait a bit more for the moderna or J&J vaccine (or even the BCG vaccine which is already on market for 100 years), go for the 2nd option.
do with this whatever you want - but happy to revise this Summer 2021. - MaximusAurelius

I don't know.. I think he's back with the team to prevent any further potential exposure to Covid. I hope he's fully recovered, he is one tough SOB. - PatC80
The Leafs statement says he will rejoin his teammates upon recovery. NHL statement says when he recovers from the injury. So somewhere between Max’s death certificate and just isolation. Obviously, not the serious injury everyone had feared but one where he is expected to play once the Leafs deal with the pesky CBJ’ers |

Could be, but I don't see it. Neck/back injuries are treated about as serious as anything. In the event something is left unchecked he could walk away and be paralyzed as a result.
I just saw this play out with a family member who had a car accident. Exposure isn't on the radar at that point with all the precautions already in place.
That, and his contact with anyone must have been incredibly limited.. Or he wouldn't have been allowed back into the bubble prior to clearing the days of testing. - joel878
They have isolation protocols for returning to the bubble |

I don't think anyone of us are too clear on what happened or what the protocols being applied are. Or maybe it's just me. I am certainly not clear on all of this.
I don't think they'd have let him back in the bubble without some form of quarantine protocol being applied, but there has to be some type of "ante-bubble" like an antechamber, doesn't there? Like somewhere you go to quarantine before you are back in the bubble? Like a pre-bubble bubble?
I got the impression that he was checked out at the hospital and it was ok, but he was now in quarantine at the hotel.
My first thought on watching what happened was that he may have pinched a nerve causing numbness (or something else if it was the cartoid). He was moving his extremities, but if he had numbness or a lack of feeling or even an erratic heartbeat, that could be serious enough to warrant that level of caution. |

They have isolation protocols for returning to the bubble - Canada Cup
There is the outside of the bubble, and the inside of the bubble. That's how the bubble works.
Per Frank Seravelli:
"Because even if Muzzin is given the all-clear from doctors to physically return to action, he will put the NHL’s Phase 4 protocol to the test as the first player in these Stanley Cup playoffs to leave the confines of the secure bubble in emergency fashion.
The NHL’s protocol calls for any player who returns from an excused exit - such as Blues forward returning to St. Louis on Tuesday for the birth of his first child - to quarantine in his hotel room until four consecutive negative tests for COVID-19 can be produced over a four-day period.
But the NHL said on Tuesday night that Muzzin will not necessarily be subjected to the same protocol. There is no hard and fast rule, in the event of an injury that requires treatment outside of the league’s triage centre in each bubble, for how that player will re-enter the bubble and re-join his teammates if and when he is able to do so.
Instead, that decision will rest in the hands of the NHL’s Hub Medical Director, in consultation with the Event Medical Director, and it will be based on an assessment of the type and degree of exposure Muzzin is subjected to while outside the bubble." |

I dunno, the spread here is minimal, I think it's good advice to wait for a proven vaccine and to not jump at the first opportunity. |

I wouldn't pass judgement until more peer review study and more information is done. There will be plenty of information between now and then to either instill confidence or deter adoption.

I have to assume that they will wait until tomorrow or Friday to do the first COVID test on Muzzin.. No point of doing the test right away.. Symptoms don't show up immediately.

symptoms aren't needed to do a test. in fact, most of the infections are asymptomatic.
but you're right that it's appropriate to wait 24-48hours to do the test.
(although they'll probably do a test today, tomorrow and then 2 days after again). |

Right. I wasn’t sure if it was his normal room or if they had a special area. Looks like “go to your room”

There's no firm rule that says he has to be tested anything above the norm for leaving on an emergency basis. If he is back in the bubble, the hub director has already cleared him. At least that's how I read it... |

Or both. Leafs are dressing as their 7th defenceman, dead Jake “Bernie” Muzzin. Love his stay at home discipline. |

I'm going to look for them, if I can reasonably make them out of smoked meat I'll try.
By reasonably I mean cost effective, I guess I could use dark meat for the chicken but fish these days are kinda expensive. |
